I just got off the phone w/ Tarek and I would like to clarify his issue in case someone here can offer a suggestion. His car will start and run fine when cold and continue to run well until you shut it off. You can then try to restart immediately and it will not restart. If you wait a minute or two it will restart but if you shut it off it will not start again. The time it took to "cool off" has shortened considerably since he installed rebuilt injectors. It used to take an hour to "cool off", now only minutes.

Any ideas?

Hi Tarek
Double check you have spark when engine will not start. I have known of several cars recently with the fault symptom you ddescribe. It tunred out to be a faulty flywheel speed sensor. In those cases there was no spark when hot, took some time to cool down, and then would start OK.

He can pour a few drops of fuel into the intake and the car will start right up no matter how hot it is.

Sorry to hear that you are still having issues. I'm glad my injectors helped a little . did you use the O'scope like I suggested, If you pour fuel into the intake at it starts it maybe that the crank sensor is intermittent and once it starts it stays running, it cuts off the fuel if no signal is present. Did you check your fuel return line, pressure at hot and the Y connector under the fender?

Yes, I saw that in his first post, but wondered

1) If the car cooled down during the time it takes to remove airfilter etc to get fuel in there (the hood being up also would assist cooling)

2) If that situation has changed since he swapped out bad injectors

Thanks guys. One of the issues I'm having, is that it's cooling down too quickly. this was the case a couple of months ago when it first started, then it got worse and worse and worse, and since I swapped out the injectors, the time during which I need to test/verify has shrunk significantly

...but I do know it will get worse from here...again.

I'll keep it running when I get home tonight and have tools in hand before shutting it off.

thanks again

didn't have access to an O'scope....so if it comes down to it, I may have to ask if you can help.
I'm still somewhat suspicious of the fuel injector harness...although it did check out ok when cold....and I might need to benefit from your experience on that as well!!

I have a scope if you want to come over we can try some things on it! I'm assuming if you let it cool down you can make it home? Sat early would work for me.
