Nice GTS Ebay
Found this on ebay. Looks like it might be a deal. Nice looking car. No affiliation.

ENZO,
This car is a popular topic here, its been running for a year or so on Ebay, the owner must have $5,000 in auction listing fees for the number of times its been on Ebay.

The car is a hunk of junk.
*saying this because a DFW member is interested in it.

First off, under the 'Features' portion of the ebay ad, it lists the engine as a 5.0 liter instead of 5.4... Beyond that, these guys have previously investigated this car in detail...
Maybe you can think of it as an upgrade? Aren't the GTS motors smokey oil-eaters?

One person has checked that car out and most of what is on the bird, is conjecture and guessing.
If I was in the market for another car, I think this one would suit my needs. I wouldn't care if it had a 5.0 vs a 5.4, super charge that thing and you are way ahead of the game. I've not seen it in person but for 18k, I'd not hesitate to get his GTS. Everything that has been listed are easy fixes. If it does, in fact, have an S4 engine, that is not a draw back for me. It's a GTS, Good exterior and interior. I figure that the longer it sits, the better of a deal one of us can get it for.
I've not bid on it because of our DFW crew has had the high bid the last 4 auctions and has talked to the guy, knowing what he has in it, and what it will sell for.

After reading Pelican it sure seems like a turd to be avoided unless it can be had for a crazy cheap price.

Just looked at the ebay pics again. Still I say it's a beautiful car. Too bad it has all this baggage.

Funny story about a car with "baggage"
Roger's black GTS.
He was looking to buy it many years back, this was when Rennlist was still an e-mail forum and he was a newbie to 928's. When he showed interest in the car the "list" bagged the car, saying it was wrecked, bad in every way from the engine to the space frame.
Guess what, he bought the car and it was pristine, and he got a hell of a deal on it. That purchase let to what is today, 928sRus.
When you have a forum full of people saying a car is trash, and noone has actually seen it or done a PPI, then you have a bunch of people that have incorrect assumptions and the car gets a bad rap. Then someone just might get a great deal.
