Mine was noisy until I tightened down the hexhead bolts on the latch and receiver.

Finally - an easy fix.

I can confirm that Bill's fix works. My hatch has been squeaking me nuts, and using the silicone eliminated the noise.

Me, too. I actually did have to ride laying down in the back (as Bill suggested), and discovered most of the squeaking involved the release assembly. Lubed it up, adjusted the bumpers, a little silicone, and all is well.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.

You'd be surprised how much squeaking is done by just the wiper assembly latch, and how little grease is used to solve it. A slight twist of the car body makes it sound like crazy.

I used pieces of Gorilla tape instead of teflon tape, it's tough and slick. I also put a small piece of it in the lock receiver. The real key for me was adjusting the rubber guide wedges. About 1/8th inch on each side...no more rattle...hatch perfectly aligned
