Talking 86' 5-Speed Transmission

Well I got the transmission in my 86' 928s fixed. Turns out the spring in the case broke and fell through the 5th gear set, braking the tips of the teeth in several places. I did all the work myself with the help of my dad. We pulled the TT and the tranny and took it to a shop to do the rest. We had to order a 5th gear set and a new input shaft from Germany which cost me about $1,300 with shipping. But I saved about $1000 in labor, and I learned quite a bit, and I didn't even need the shop books to do it. On Saturday I got it installed and she runs as good as new.
Now all I need is a new interior and paint. I am also looking for a Porsche CD-2 Reciever, I want an original looking reciever in the car. Also does anybody know anything about the window antenna? Where it runs and how can the thin copper wire be fixed without replacing the whole wire, if it can be fixed.

Thanks,
Michael Robinson

I hope that your transmission repair works out for you.

The primary thing to check on the windshield antenna is the power booster. Running with the antenna co-ax is a thin black wire that powers the antenna amplifier. This should be wired to a switched 12 vdc supply from the radio, so the amp is powered when the radio is on.
