Default Champagne Leather Announcement

Hello everyone,

it is with a sad feeling that I write these lines today. Circumstances beyond my control are forcing me to cut back on work drastically and cancel all of the full interiors I have on the schedule.

The work load over the past few years as been crazy and both my wife and I have been working in excess of 15 hours a day, seven days a week for longer than I can remember.
In an effort to please everyone, I have dug myself into a hole and basically given up on my own life and enjoyments. The results have been very taxing on both my mind set and my health. More importantly for me, it as also affected the health of my wife.

So I basically have no choice but to follow my doctor's directions and try to get back first on the path of good health and then get back to enjoying my own life again.

The impact goes beyond even health and sanity. My other business, which is the actual bread winner, as been suffering from neglect and I have no choice now but to give it the attention it desperately need.

The plan now is to complete the rest of the orders that remained on the schedule. Most, if not all are seats. So if you have not been contacted yet and have seats, or steering wheels on order, no worry, I am working on your stuff.
I will contact you all personally with a new projected delivery date.

Once the current workload is done, my wife and I will take a much anticipated break. Then, with a fresh mind and hopefully rested body, we will move to phase 2.

I plan to mainly concentrate on seats and a few other small parts from now on. Seats are easy for me and I find the basic S4 seat to be a wonderful canvas for creating exciting new designs. I have such designs coming out shortly that will surprise and hopefully excite the 928 community. I have been working hard the past few months on replacement bolsters for sport seats. These have always been the weak link in the sport seat conversion, and I now have something that takes advantage of the new developments in foam.

I have designed a bunch of new products, like shifter boots, luggage covers and more, that had never even seen the light of day until recently.
I will try to concentrate on some of that stuff for a good while, until I get back on top.

Again, this is due mainly to being completely burned out with everything that ensues. I am sorry for those whose projects have been canceled. I understand the disappointment. I simply have no choice at this point.

I remain, of course, available to those of you who have questions on interior projects, and as always, will be happy to help if I can.
I will also remain a Rennlist sponsor and, once my wife and I get back on top, will continue to show pictures of new and interesting stuff.

Thanks to all for your continued support.

Paul

Paul,

You'ved certainly set an ingenuity and quality standard that has raised the bar for all of the rest of us. I understand that it is easy to over extend yourself, especially in something you enjoy/love.

I hope some rest will help you return to whatever you value most.

Many thanks for your help to me personally and for all you've done for the 928 community.

Rod

I'm guessing that this is the right 'big picture' decision, Paul. Good that you have the clarity of vision to be able to make it.

Now, as your doctor, I order you to take it easy and begin drinking heavily!

Devastating as I've been setting money aside to someday enlist your services, but from what I can see here, you have done a world of good and deserve the break. Best wishes.

Paul and Linda, you folks have certainly become critical to the 928 community in dealing with our different projects. It was nice to know your quality in materials, workmanship and design were just an e-mail or phone call away. I'm sure you have postponed, too long, your need to pull back, and I'm equally sure it was due to your concern for your customers. I know everyone will understand and wish you the very best in reprioritizing you life.

Of course anything nice I have to say is predicated upon you finishing my current order.

Thank you all for your good wishes.

As stated, if all goes well and according to plan, I will be back for those of you who will need seats, steering wheels etc. In fact, I plan to specialize in whatever the driver comes in contact with
I will just do it at a more enjoyable pace and maybe with any luck, have time to finally drive my own shark

I have to agree that I should have done this earlier. A couple of my close friends here on Renn know the situation well.

Thank you all again

Paul

WOW Paul!

PLEASE ENJOY LIFE! I always say why work 80 hours a week! Even if you make a cool million a year, you never have time to enjoy it!

Sorry to hear this and my wish list is now DOA~ Frankly i am surprised you dealt with all of us for this long! Good luck!

I guess its time for Rob Budd to get swamped! I hope we don't kill Rob

Maybe its finally time for me to get a sewing machine that can go through Leather and learn myself. Paul, do you have any suggestions on a sewing machine? Also could I pay you for a copy of your pattern for the pod, airbag dash, center console, and door armrests to make covers JUST FOR MY CAR? Let me know if thats an option, ive always wanted to learn to sew leather! (This is going to cost me a fortune! I wonder how many hides i will mess up) Actually i am serious about the patterns and suggestion for a machine.

PM me if you like.

BUT PLEASE REST THE SPIRITS AND AS RANDY SAID, START DRINKING. Or just take a nice 3 month vacation someplace, that worked for me!

Ryan,

I'm not dying you know, or going to the moon

As for my patterns, these things are like children. You don't share them, abandon them, and certainly, you don't sell them

Paul
