Default Price check from my water cooled brotheren?

An 85 928 has come up FS in my area. Its red (looks like some repaint - good job) some minor clear pealing, 100K (just turned)miles, 5 speed, brown interior. 8 way heated seats, interior is in good shape (no dash cracks, seats - no rips etc). Looks to be a fairly well taken care of car. Seller says air doesn't blow cold ....? not sure why. Suspension feels worn out, clutch has a hint of chatter but grabs well and motor feels strong with good pull.

What's a good deal, what should I look for, look out for? Thinking of a possible track car. Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

TIA

Are you going to track it? If so, you won't need that a/c. Altho does it have the rear air option? That is very difficult to remove. If no major issues are present, and timing belt recent (85 US is an interference engine if that belt breaks), and subject to a normal ppi, I'd say $6500 - $8500 range is probably fair.

One other thing...if you buy it...drive it a bit first, and make sure you want to sacrifice it to the track!
You may end up loving it too much for that sort of abuse
