Post Rare original wheels

Anyone know a site where there is a complete collection of the wheel sets that ever came as original or optional equipment on 928's?

My '89 GT came with factory wheels that I have never seen on another 928. I am interested in finding out more about these wheels.

Those are the wheels I was just describing to KBLAIR in the other thread. Those are the lightweight forged GT wheels. They look like Design 90's but they are noticably different.

Ah yes, I see what you mean. they are different from the Design 90 except they have the same spoke cutout shape. it's almost a circular cutout and I'm looking for more of a V shape. Nice rims though, sweet GT!

Thanks for the compliment, and it runs very strong. The only mods I have done is the RMB and the cup wheels. I just happened to have the original wheels on the back when I took the picture.

how rare are these original wheels?

That is some pretty neat source documentation you have there!!

Gretch came through with the Brigestones, but not the gas shocks to my knowledge. I have to look at the option codes to be sure......

The club sport wheels you have only came on the 89GT in the US. I think they were also on the SE and CS in Europe.

Want to sell them?

As for a site with pictures wheels, the most complete I've found to date (it doesn't have everything) can be found at http://www.928.org.uk/wheels.html

John,

I have no idea what they are worth and one rear wheel has a 1" piece of the outter most edge broken off. It can be repaired, I just never got to it.

Polishing them may make them look good, but since they were not coated with anything they are a real challenge to keep clean.

Gretch,

You have the forged Club Sport rims that came on the '89 GT (as described by others here). My '89 GT had these also (still have 'em, may sell 'em at some point, currently running Kinesis K5 rims).

This is a picture of Gretch with the Cup wheels on, I don't know what the weight difference is but the look is more appealing, at least to me.
