Post 7-spoke wheels?....

Was wondering if there was an actual wheel that looks like the flat wheels with the Jager wheel kit on them...

I like the 7-spoke look but I'm not sure how these kits will look in real life. Has anyone tried them? What are your impressions?

I believe the DESIGN 90's were like that...as well as the sought after Club Sport Rims (right Adam : ) )

Cool

The Design 90's do look nice, but I'd like more "spoke". any aftermarket wheels available?

The ATP Riva's Tony has are very nice. I would consider the 17" ones myself for my '79. Tony has the 2pc 18" ones. Chris Locharts '89 GT has the 18" Rivas too. Check the 928 Specialist Website for all the wheel/tire info for 928's.

If your heart is set on 7 spoke, you could also try to find the uber-rare lightweight GT wheelset.
I seem to remember something about them only being an option in '89.

At this point I'm just looking, but I do prefer a 7 spoke design. If I could find some that look like the flats with the Jager kit on them then I'd buy them now. Want to be able to show off the calipers after I paint them red or have them powder coated or whatever. going for a black with red highlights look.

Im getting ready to do my caliper painting this weekend. I finally got the Gloss Black caliper paint from JCWhitney. I gotta build a little paint booth in my basement first. I have the same 's' brakes as you do. I'll send you a picture when im done.

I have the optional wheel set that came on my 89 GT. I replaced them with a set of 17" cup wheels. They are an unusual wheel and a real pain in the tail to keep clean. I keep them around as a spare set. How rare are they?

I got the 17" ATP Rivas from the Tire rack. You can see them here:

I really liked them, but didn't want 18" wheels.

John, pics would be great! Let us know how it turns out.

Gretch, do you have a pic of those wheels anywhere? Don't believe I've seen them.

Quaz, those are really nice but Im going to hold out for a 7-spoke if I can. Nice shark you've got there.

Gretch if want to sell them, I know a guy here in the Baltimore area whose was looking for a set for his '89 GT. He's trying to restore it to as stock condition as he can. That was 4 months ago. He might still be looking for a set...

Well I don't need them per se, I suppose price clears all hurdles......I have no idea what they are worth. Any advice on the subject would be appreciated.

KBlair,
I was down to SitM this year, and my wif spotted a set of the wheels with the Jaeger wheel kit on 'em, she liked the looks of it!

Maybe I'll just mill out the area, which IS outlined on the back of the rim, maybe a few lbs. less rotational weight.... Better airflow thru the calipers?
