Arrow Spider For Sale.

I have a complete intake from my '79 US automatic 928 for sale (I swapped it with an extrude honed one that I had ceramic coated):

It is in very good condition and includes the original Porsche crest.

If your engine now looks something like this (well, maybe not THIS bad):

...buy this intake, have it ceramic coated (about $100 at your local specialty coatings shop), hand-paint the Porsche crest (DIY), then, using your existing or new boots and clamps, swap it with that crusty intake that's on your engine now.

That, plus a bit of TLC, can result in your engine looking like this (it worked for me):

First $50 takes it. Actual shipping charges to your location will be additional.

If seriously interested, please email me.

Geez, Randy, for a second I thought that was "spyder" for sale, and I couldn't believe you'd do that...

Hey Randy, I'm not wanting to buy but I do have two questions if you don't mind.

Do you know if there is a difference between US and ROW intakes?.

What would be gained by having the intake extruded (is this proper grammar?.)

BTW - I met Rich Andrade at the PCA Phoenix Flight XXV last Saturday. Good Guy - Somewhere in his digital photo album, He's got a shot my S2 engine. BTW - The Phoenix Flight show had a great turn out. I think 115 Porsches (of all types) in all. Of course all I cared about were the 928s' - but there were two 930 Twin Turbo's (SN) that I could of been talked into rather easily.

Randy,

I emailed you off line on the spider. I'll take it off you hands. My details are in your in-box.

I also asked a question regarding avatar and
"RLM" indicators on posts.

Thanks,
Scott

Drew - the euro intake has larger diameter 'tubes' for increased airflow. Extrude honing smooths the walls of the airways for less turbulence and improved flow. Unfortunately, I did not do baseline dyno testing with the stock intake so can't quantify the gains. I also did several other mods in conjuction with the new intake including new coil and ignition wires, cleaned and flow-tested the injectors, and added a dual exhaust. After all that there's a marked improvement in performance, though how much (if any) is attributable to the honed intake is unknown to me.

Chris - thanks. It took a *few* hours .

Scott - see my reply to your email.

Hmm, no pics Drew.

The 16 V cars were equipped with a single cat that transitioned to a single pipe to the rear of the car. A definite bottle neck in exhaust flow.

I installed the exhaust system from an early '86 (the '85 will work too, but not an '86.5) as it uses a dual chamber cat with dual pipes to the rear that follows the same configuration as that on the 16 V cars.

Improved exhaust flow = improved performance.

I guess you can say that I'm ignorant to the ways of the US 928 being that I've only owned Euro Spec 928s.

My shark has MSDS headers with dual cats/pipes all the way back into the secondary muffler and on into the main muffler. She sounds tough, especially at WOT. (Can't wait to upgrade my pipes to 3" and a more breathable muffler)

Also, is there a way to upload audio tracks (Mp3 or ?) onto the discussion boards.

Thanks again for the reply !
