Yeah, non-repairable usually means 'we don't know how, or want to futz with it'. I can have all kinds of stuff repaired that you would never imagine.

I have no problem getting them repaired for 50% of the -was- new price.
Its the backlog of work at the repair facility that is the problem.

According to Porsche Classic in Stuttgart, the oil coolers 92810721200 as well as the brackets 92850528902 that connect the oil cooler to spoier and belly pan are available, and in stock.

Sorta true.
As Rog says, there's a small stockpile in Germany, but once those are gone, they're gone.
This part is now listed as NLA in the North American parts system.

Just because they tell you a part is NLA, doesn't mean Porsche has discontinued the part.
My brother wants to rebuild his TB tensioner on his 81' S, the rubber boot is NLA, but the inventory in Germany last December was 200 pieces. Sunset Porsche said if he paid in advance, they would request the part be shipped to USA. This week, Sunset e-mailed him to say the part should be here in 2-1/2 weeks. That's still a long time to wait getting a part.
Why Porsche Classic does this, I don't know. There was an article in the Los Angeles Times last summer describing the Mercedes restoration center in Orange County. They said it was the only Mercedes restoration center outside of europe. They also said Porsche had one in Germany (that 's probably the one at the Porsche museum). Some how these restoration centers seem to find parts that are NLA.

70+ oil coolers, i think that should last awhile!
Unless someone goes and buys the whole lot and marks them up. Not sure how many years it would take to sell 70 oil coolers though.

yeah but how many 90 91 and GTS cars are there that really need one?
How many on here need one or would maybe buy one, 6-10 ? I'm glad they are available.
There does seem to be some misinformation here though. I remember trying to get a rear belly pan and called Porsche 18 months ago or so and they were available. Fairly cheap too. Then it was said that they were now NLA (12 months ago?) so I called Roger to get a used one. But i assume this now just meant NLA in the states. I really don't consider a part not being in the country NLA. If it is in Germany, its available. I guess i need a definition on what Porsche considers NLA and what's never going to be available.
When i needed a fuel pump from Germany i paid 15% more and it got to Oregon in 2 days. That was well worth the money for me instead of waiting 3-6 weeks. So if it has to come from Germany, there are ways around the 4 week boat cruise.
