Default Inaugural road trip...

In early Feb, to celebrate my wife's birthday--and to get out of town for some de-stress time, , we decided to take a road trip from Nashville, Tenn. to Destin, Florida in our new 1988 928 S4.

Other than the drive I took from Orange County NY to Nashville last summer after purchasing the car, and one group ride with the Mid Tenn Fun Run guys, this is our first vacation-type road trip.

I'm happy to report that the car performed flawlessly, and we had a great weekend. We stayed at a Marriott hotel on the grounds of the Sandestin Golf Resort.

Trying to get the ever elusive car and water view shot.

My wife is engrossed in either a romantic novel or a true crime book. In either case, she didn't want to get out of the car.

Don't worry, the car isn't going into the water a la Risky Business. I'm just going for another water view.

I lucked out a got a 928 'prefix' for my license plate.

At a rest stop somewhere in Alabama.

Thanks for looking!

Regards,

- rick

Nice lookin car Rick. Looks like a fun trip, brings back memories.
I drove my '83 S down from St. Louis to Destin just after I got in in the beginning of '97. Drove thru Nashville and took the same route from there down. I recall there were actually some fun back roads in northern Florida, once you get off the highway and back into the swamps!
Wish I were down in Destin in my S4 right now

Rick,

Great looking 928. I lived in Gallatin TN. for a couple of years, not far from Nashville, but now live about 2 miles from Sandestin. We have been here for about 3 years now, and just love it. We are in the middle of spring break, the beach is packed.

Next time your down let me know, would love to take a ride down 30A with the cars.

Rick, Nice 928 and thanks for sharing!!

LOL! My wife would probably do the same thing. Stay in the car and read, while her crazy husband ran around outside snapping pics of his new toy!
