Dean,

Just PM me your address and I'll get the T-handle and screws mailed asap.

Just send me the postal cost after you get the handle. Or buy me a beer at SITM if you are going.

That looks like a real clean specimen, especially the interior.

Nice find, Dean!

Pull it back toward you twice... quickly. That's how you normally switch between US and metric....

I'll see if I can post a few pages from my OM on this topic.

Hi Andrew,
Did the pull 2 times real fast with no response...I think I remember reading somewhere that changing back and forth using that method was not available in 1989 models....could someone confirm or deny???? The Carfax says the car sold new in Florida....don't know why someone would want readouts in German.

I looked in my owner's manual, and there wasn't anything of use there. I also look in the Cluster Diagnotics manual and didn't see anything there either.

The "double click" should change from miles to KM - not the language, but there is a way to change the language, I just don't remember. I'll eventually find it.

Here's a thread I found...

https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...hange+language

BTW, you only need to bridge pins 5 and 13 of the diagnotic port to activate the dash diagnostics, then hold the lever for 3 seconds.

Okay....I'm puzzled. According to the service manual the plug is next to the fuse panel. The service manual is dated 1988 and I do not have that plug where they say it is.....where the heck is it???

This is what I have in that area.

No... on the 89+, the port is under the cover between teh passenger seat and the door.

BTW, did you disconnect the plug that goes on that clear plastic relay? That is your Ignition Monitoring Relay. This is what measures the right bank exhaust gas temps vs. the left bank. Just thought you'd like to know.

There is a white plug off the back side of the ignition monitoring relay...just hard to see. I don't feel any unused connectors anywhere so I guess thats the only one needed....

I removed the cover next to the passenger seat. I assume the box is what I'm after. I removed the end caps facing forward and thats whats there.
It that the same as yours? Where is this in the service manuals?? Not sure how they are numbered. The box doesn't have a 13 pin....man I feel dumb.

Dean, I don't think that is what you are looking for. That is the fan control unit. I think Andrew is refering to MY 89 and up.
