Intermittent Wipers Not Working

Intermittent Wipers Not Working
My intermittent wiper settings do not work and its getting to be a major pain in the you know where....
The wiper switches works in all other positions except the intermittent. Can some one please point me in the right direction as to what I can do about this. I am assuming postion 1 is intermittent and position 2 is normal and position 3 is high speed?
Unfortunatelty where I am based in Scotland, no garage wants to touch the car in fear of messing things up thus I have to start getting my hands dirty.

I have the same problem, and it isn't the relay or the switch under the pod, or the instrument cluster switch - all were replaced and still no intermittant for me...

I would check the wires to the switch under the pod first, you need,
a light and
a mirror and
a strong back

I had this problem as well, for awhile...
What I found, was that the timing wheel under the pod, whatever brush/contact assembly is used, must corrode with time....'Nother maintenance point to these cars, I guess....
While runnin' down the road at some point, I started swinging the wheel back and forth...Guess I was using the friction method to 'clean' the brush/contacts???? Anyway, after a short while, they started to work again, in varying places and timings.... YMMV, and I do NOT guarantee this'll fix your problem.....
So, later on, I started doing the same exercise with the dash dimmer wheel, which only worked in spots, same results; now, the dimmer wheel works in all locations. Easy no-cost fix....... for once!
