Default 11k mile 88 S4, why the new leather?

I looked at this car and wondered what was wrong with it? then I figured it out, why would a car with only 11k miles have new covers on the seats and why wouldn't the owner have replaced them with factory original type covers. Really tacky IMO.....

If I'm not mistaken it's the same specimen mentioned in here:

As I said, I'm still in shock that there are three bids. Unless of course the bids are kept private for a reason and the seller has someone bidding it up!

Oh well, I hope it's only the leather that is odd about this car and no one get's screwed.

Jeff sold me a grossly misrepresented 928 a few years ago. The Colorado Attorney Generals office wanted me to prosecute him, but I accepted a full refund instead. It still cost me shipping both ways.

This man professed to be a Christian before the sale, but made some exteemly threatening comments to my wife after the sale. If he had made even the slightest attempt to make good on the car, I would have kept it, even if it wasn't as represented. After the comments to my wife, I went after him.

Should have busted his ***. Not to be trusted.

On a 11K mile car the undercarriage should be pretty clean unless the car was driven in the winter. Looking closely the undercarriage appears to have been washed in hopes that someone will be fooled. Without seeing it in person it's hard to be 100% sure on this but judging by the seats there is definitely something up with this car. White is also a very easy color to respray so you really never know until you see the car in person.

I guess I need to stop being critical since I haven't seen the car in person but it just bugs me when people blatantly lie about something and the seats come accross as something is being hidden. Would love to hear the story they've come with on the seats.

Think of why a 11k UBoot would need new headliner, carpet and seat recovering.
Specifically just the rear LOWER seat cushions.

I'm hoping I'm completely wrong in my assumptions about this car.

Looks like the entire front seats and the lower portions of the rear seats? The under side could have undercoating added (my 78 looked like that) but the finish on the intake certainly doesn't look like 11k?

.....missing and rusty tools? 11k miles? I don't think so. Something really stinks with this car.

Rob B or Paul C should comment. The center seactions of the front seats are separate from the bolsters. We all know they should have deep pleats. It looks like they were installed with a lot of foam without tacking down the pleats. The rear seat uppers have the pleats, but the bottoms don't. Yes, very fishy.

That was my thought, too! Improper storage can do a lot of damage. The rusty tools are an indicator.
