To have a 928 as your only daily driver?
How many here do not have a "reliable family car"?
I'm thinking about going 928 only....well...more than one.
Is that insane?

My 928 is not my daily driver, but I don't have a "reliable family car" because the DD is a piece of junk. And really, I work at home and drive so little that I put more miles on the 928 in most weeks.

Not insane but you do need a second car (928?). Simply because when it does have a problem it can take time to get parts/special tools or just a long time to make a repair.
Mine is a daily driver (for 7 years), my second car is a 92 Mustang so I spend a lot of time repairing one or the other to ensure at least one is running.
I noticed in this time I put a lot more miles on the Mustang; mostly because I can usually get parts & stuff pretty quickly for the Mustang so it is not off the road for long. Repairs often take a month or 2 for the 928. Currently I have been messing around for about 3 weeks trying to get the last air bubbles out of the clutch system.

A typical run to Home depot. They had half wine barrels for 20 bucks last week. I drive mine in daily use.
Ive got other pics of plants in the back...sheets of plywood, but you get the idea. I just lay blankets and tarps down to protect everything.
..and yes the hatch closed with out issue

I'm buying an 87 5 speed tomorrow, the plan is to use it as a daily driver once it is sorted out. Wife does have a min van, boys a grand prix, I plan on selling my 88 928, 71 Triumph Stag and 96 Jag XJ6.

I have been driving my 83 928S for a daily driver for the past four or five years. I do have another 83 928S that I use for trips and other things.
Only problem I have is some time my wifes SUV gets stranded in the snow and I have to go get her.

Same as Tony, my 928 is my DD, (with occasional downtime for repairs -wife has own car) AND I have used mine as a pick-up; largest load was 6- 4x4x10', 2 bags redi-mix concrete (45kg each) and several sono-tubes. I didn't get pics though. I have no use, want, or desire to own a pickup truck, plus the expressions on peoples' faces when you "load-up" is good for a laugh.
I intend to install class III hitch (for 3500lb) and get a trailer so I can haul small vehicles......or perhaps the perfect match for a shark....an airstream!

I HOPE IT AIN"T!! I bought it 3 yrs ago, as a second car to offset the use of my dying 4x4. Two months later, 4x4 dead and gone. Been driving it, daily, ever since.

Forgot to say, in the process of remodeling my basement, I used the car to haul almost every thing, It was amazing to see the reaction of people when I would lot two by fours and trim pieces into the car.
It holds 8 foot sections with ease.

I didn't intend for mine to be a daily driver but, it ended up that way. The more I used mine the better everything worked (Window/Mirror/Seat switches were troublesome when I bought the car, now work everytime). Also I can't stand driving anything else. I am looking for another one as a wife/backup car now. In the last year I have driven to Sarasoto/Orlando/Miami/Sebring/St. Pete and Georgia, the oil pressure sender was my only problem. Knocking on wood now.
