Nice John
Now you want to have me worry a little more?
If I can exceed the 2-day window between down times I'll be happy!

I personally would never have anyone service a MAF except John.

Hope you got it straight now, enjoy that boost now that the underlying issues seem to be sorted.

I'm with Kevin here........Just for the record here, John made 9 posts in this thread alone trying to sort out your issues. You still went to a competitor for the rebuild, he screwed it up, and had to fix it again. John may be more $, but there is a price for quality work and service. Just sayin'...

Just for the record; I was told of Kevins good work, quick turn around time and lifetime warranty. I never heard of him before but went on a recommendation(s). I would have had to send the Maf to England wait a while and pay to ship it back. Shipping an item to John last time cost me $45.00 one way. This would bring the cost to around $500.00. I did not want to get a used Maf and this seemed like an good option. And yes, John has been gracious in helping me even if I was using a competitor. In hind site would I do it again I'm not sure to be honest. I buy all my parts from Roger even though there are plenty of other vendors; time, convenience and yes pricing all plays into one's decision. I have spent way too much money on this car and sometimes a little break in pricing will put me over the edge. As I said Kevin came recommended but then again so did Devick.

John has agents in the US that stock his offerings, to be fair.

So for us that aren't as smart, what exactly was the problem. Was the MAF not set properly that didn't allow the correct A/F base to be set?
Would this cause the intermittent spike and if so, why?

What's with the "driver" that Mark was talking about in post 106?

Thanks guys.

Angel, the driver mentioned was an item that was installed in the MAF by the shop that rebuilt it. Mark had just copied us on the correspondence. So far the MAF was way out of spec and had to be rebuilt. I think it is a little premature to say it was the only problem until its back on the car and running properly for a few days.

Are you coming to St. Pete? Is your car moving under its own power yet?

Thanks Sean. There are so many thread on here that never post a conclusion and this reads like a treasure hunt. I'd like to know if he finds the golden ticket and why was it so elusive.

I've made a lot of progress but I have all the interior pulled out. New Leather BABY!!!
I'm also afraid to start the car without the dash and Pod installed. It might let all the smoke out of the boxes. You know the electronics work off smoke!! You let the smoke out and they stop working.

Soon my friend, I'll have my chariot on the road. Long road but well worth it............I think.

Tampa?
Did you get the MAF straightened out? Sucks that the repaired unit had a problem but I guess it is good that it was identified right away and hopfully fixed your situation.
Please let us know.

I am running rich and have the best minds working on this but any other feedback would be appricated.
I rebuilt the Maf and here is a copy of my notes.
The first issue, I cannot set the Maf with the Ox sensor removed even close to 14.7 using my wide band. Once it has connected it is still running rich when adjusted for 383 Ohms. The only way to get it close is to adjust it to 0 Ohms, I settled on 73 Ohms to allow for my narrow band A/F gauge to oscillate but it still runs rich. I have checked for any air leaks and its fine and it idles steady. I have a new Ox sensor on order but mine is only 30 days old and a Bosch!

I have a new log.
Session one colds no Ox sensor
Session two S/c removed cold no Ox sensor
Session 3 adj Maf to zero ohms no Ox sensor
Temp II hot motor 253 and 251 Ohms
No matter what I do it runs rich!

Ok, and you do have the orignal stock injectors ?

When you next datalog, measure the MAF volts at idle.
