Default Speedo sensor question

Where does the sensor get it's info? Front wheels, rear wheels, transaxle???

I'm pretty sure there's a sensor on the rear axle. What's it doing? If it's not moving at all when the car moves it might just be a problem with dirty connections in the pod rather than at the sender. I think it's grounded at that point in the PS (us) rear hatch area behind the quarter panel.

Well, I'm actually considering a different front tire size, 225/55-16, instead of the 225/50-16, as supplied from the factory. There is a difference in circumference, as well as sidewall. fewer rev's per mile. I wonder/worry about fender well clearance as well.

IIRC pre PSD cars the signal comes from the rear diff.

On PSD cars from one of the ABS front wheel speed sensors.
