Ken for an 85 far better to go aftermarket oil cooler than the very small and vulnerable low mounted expensive factory cooler.

Bizarrely I bought the large bracket shown in the first photo from an official Porsche dealer for under $20. I'm sure that must be a pricing error, I was expecting to have to pay perhaps ten times that much.

It is essential too, as it is the main protection for the oil cooler, and the original is the wrong size and doesn't have the ducts. It would do an even better job had I managed to replace the rubber mounts highlighted by Dennis K.

Again I eat "humble pie".
Part is available and there are 19 in Germany.
928 505 059 03 is $138.96 so your $18 purchase was a great deal Paul 8>)

I believe new ones are NLA. You might try Roger (if he's back from vacation) at 928'sRUs - he selss reconditioned one for ~$350, or try 928 Int'l - they have used ones from time to time for $250 ea, I think.

Good luck.

You'll also need these radiator mounts (Part #928.106.179.00)
Why did I miss this before? Thanks Dennis, will order the new mounts tomorrow!
