If it was another cheap S4, it would be in my garage before I posted about it....

WOW 200k......but if its been maintained (its hard to hit the mileage otherwise) it still should be a solid 928.....probably cosmetically challenged, but still worth checking out! Especially if it has LSD

Edited...

Dibs on this one! As if you can dib something like this - but guys, I'm seriously interested in this one. I ran the math (more for the expected maint spend then the purchase price) and its doable.

I'm going to call the guy this morning to find out more about it, how it runs, what major repairs/maint needs to be done. How is the body? What's the deal with the interior?

If the body is relatively dent free, and if the mechanicals are basically sound - but may need some deferred maint, I think I'd be seriously interested. The interior is not a concern for me.

So, is anyone planning on going to see this one, or would someone consider stopping by to take a quick look at it?

Look it over quickly, hear it run. Take it for a short drive?

If someone could do that, I would not expect this to be a ppi, and of course would not hold that person to anything. A simple "I looked at it, and it looks like this, and without having ppi'd it, I can't tell you much more" type of evaluation would be fine. More of a confirming what the seller is saying - as much as you can with a quick once over.

Of course if someone could stop by to report on it for me, I would be eternally grateful and would hope to be able to return the favor in kind, or perhaps a decent meal, you get the idea.

Let me know if anyone if up for taking a look at it. Thanks guys! -Ed

LOL! Been there, done that. Bought the S4 sight unseen - except pics. Well, more exactly, I never saw it, but my brother and buddy did. They're both not exactly auto mechanics, but it was all good.

Flew out to NJ from Seattle to pick it up and drive it 4,000 miles, the long way, home.

Oh yeah, a great bonding experience.

The whole sordid afair: http://edb.smugmug.com/gallery/2361888_S7Lko#P-1-15

Ed, I could probably look at it for you. Have you talked to the seller? If you talk to him, and he's cool with letting me check it out for you, let me know.

I talked to the owner tonight. Young guy. Seems like a decent kid.

From what he told me, I'm still interested. Why don't I call him tomorrow and see if he will be around this weekend and if he's cool with someone stopping by?

And thanks for considering heading out there guys, that is so cool. If for any reason anyone can't make, no worries at all of course.

Ok, I'll try to speak to him as early as I can tomorrow in case folks want to make plans to roll out there this weekend.
