I agree.
What could help in this respect is:
1) Organize threads by category (e.g. PET-categories). This could be either behind the screen (but: lot of work for John or Randy or somebody else) or to be indicated by the poster when starting a thread (problem is, what goes where, especially for new people).
2) Make the search function more comprehensive. I never use the function to filter for x replies or the date filter, because I don't find it very useful. What I could use however is a logical filter (AND, OR, NOT). That would help tremendously.

Perry I am with you on this. I remember someone asked how to tell a Euro car from a US car. I posted some cosmetics things to look for and someone ripped me a new ******* over it. Quoting everything I had said, doing his best to show how he knew so much more. He just went on an on making a complete *** out of me, and my answers were for the most part correct in most cases. Since that very day my posts on the 928 board have slowed down quite a bit and my opinion of the board, sadly has also taken a hit.

It takes all kinds to make the world go round, that's the beauty of it.
We can't control people and their behavior, but we can control how we respond to people and their behavior.
There are a few people in my life, and even a few on here that I take as people that I can learn from on how to deal with people in a positive manner.
I'm always not successful at it - you bunch of snively pussies, but I try.
Heh heh....
(Just kiddin' on that last part for the humor challenged on the list )

Update on Mr King lifted from WIKI...."After the riots King was awarded $3.8 million in a civil case, and used some of the money to start a hip hop music label, Straight Alta-Pazz Recording Company.[8] He subsequently moved to Rialto, California. King also made a cameo on an episode of BET's ComicView.
He was arrested again for spousal assault in 1999. In 2001, he was then ordered to undergo a year of drug treatment after pleading guilty to three counts of being under the influence of PCP and one of indecent exposure.[9]
On August 27, 2003, he was arrested again on similar charges as in 1991. It is alleged that King was speeding, ran a red light while under the influence of alcohol, failed to yield to police officers, and then slammed his SUV into a house, breaking his pelvis.[10]
While riding to his home in San Bernardino, California on November 29, 2007, he was shot in the face, arms, back and torso with birdshot by two thieves attempting to steal his bicycle ,[11] [12] but police characterized his injuries as "not life threatening"[13]. ....." Mr Denny was the truck driver who stopped at the wrong intersection and was pulled from the truck and nearly killed , all filmed on helicopter video... I have my own opinions about who deserved $ 3.8 million. Any community even Rennlist will have it's Mr Dennys and Mr Kings. And least we forget , it takes a certain amount of Ego to think that what we post would be of interest be beneficial to others. The only chrome on a 78 928 was the outside door lock surrounds....

So, Jim, what I think you're saying is that Mr. King would fit right in with this group.
I guess I can put a few more felonies on my record and try to catch up...

Here was your response to the question "How to tell if it's a Euro":

To some, he was "ripped a new *******", whereas to others it looks like someone carefully corrected the inaccuracies and added more detail on correct points. Nothing against either poster - I'm just picking it as an example of a communications disconnect.
Its all about how people feel.. and why text-based chat forums are fraught with anger, conflict, egos and cliques.
Not everyone reacts the same way.. some are more prone to reading conflict into situations where there may not have been any, and others take things very personally, like its their reputation at stake, or that they're somehow "losing at the intarweb". Others just use the anonymity of web formats to deliberately stir up trouble, by targeting the people who get emotional.. they're called "trolls".
We can't expect everyone to sit around and pretend to be impartial robots.. that makes for really dull forums and takes a lot of the personality out of what is really a giant owners club.
We can expect everyone to manage their own emotions, not reply in haste when they're pissed off, and generally behave like adults, including recognising when others are having trouble and backing off.
I learned years ago that if an e-mail at work pissed me off, the best thing to do was leave it alone for a day before replying. You can't take words back easily.
Stopping to think is a valuable skill in web forums, and often re-reading the thing that initially made you angry will shed a new light. At the very least, it'll give you a chance to cool off and measure your response.
This is a fantastic community, and an incredible resource, and having it split into factions that all live separately is only going to harm the community and also those who haven't found it yet.
Now, lets see who I've pissed off with this post
