Hey girl! LOL...I've been really busy lately just catching up with real life after the calendar thing died off!
But things are getting back to normal now...back to 928 hell!
How are you?

Actually, what he meant is what you did. Look at the car on the trailer, it is 60% forward of the wheels on the trailer as that is what he meant. The load positioning needed to be forward of the trailer wheels putting weight on the tongue. So that conversation was pointless. When I used the trailer I used cut 2x4's in front of the ramps to load the car on and off. Also used them at the front of the trailer to get the car to ride up over the front edge without killing the spoiler. Worked very well.
Sounds like you had a "green" sales person...good for you. The guy I rented from was near getting his neck snapped.

Nice score for a project.
Looking at the posted pics of the waterpump change, though they are not crisp shots there appears to be significant wear on all the pulley teeth that the timing belt runs on. I hear that can be a sign of an over-tightened belt.

Well, it lives! Kevin just finished doing the timing belt and putting it all back together with fresh fluids, and she's out there purring in the driveway as I type. It would have been done yesterday, except for the pouring rain that rolled in, and the fact that the car is stuck in the driveway, with Twister being in pieces in the garage.
He said it has much better, tighter compression than the other two we have, if the difficulty of turning over the crank to check the timing is anything to go by. And he could hear the sounds of compression inside the engine much more distinctly than the other two cars when he was turning it over, as well, so we're very encouraged that the motor is in good shape and can be salvaged and supercharged. He thinks we found this car just before it went past the edge of being beyond help, but he just came in and said that it really sounds good, so he's getting happier about things.
Now he just needs to do.....everything else. He still has to get the trans and torque tube installed, once the trans arrives from Roger, and the Eibach/Bilstein suspension out of Pandora and into the new car (I wish we had a name for her already..."the new car" or "the black car" are so impersonal ), a set of tires and a battery, get all the gauges working in the dash -- none were working when it came home, but a couple of them are starting to show life again, and it needs a few other hoses and tid bits here and there. Then he has to touch up the paint everywhere, and give it a good waxing. Plus, I have to finish getting the interior softened and rehydrated, conditioned and redyed, the carpets redyed, and a thorough cleaning everywhere, and she's ready to go! Whew! It's gonna be a while, I guess, but she sooo pretty already. It's really gonna be a rewarding project when it's all done. I can't wait.
I am really starting to love my own new baby, too, now that Pandora has been made stock again and given to me. I thought I would miss the five speed trans terribly, but I have to admit the auto is really starting to grow on me. (Thank you, honey! ) Once he gets the new car up to snuff, it's going to be one hell of a ride going out together!
Hopefully, it won't take all summer to get things completely buttoned up. If there are any more big ticket surprises, that we don't have socked away in the basement already, that might hold things up.
But if not, look out Harriman State Park, here we come!! Woo hoo!

On the road! Almost. (well, mechanically, if not cosmetically)
Ok, fixing the new car has been an interesting trip through the seven levels of hell...things breaking as they're being fixed, stuff pretending to be other stuff, having to do things over again....oh it's been sooooo much fun!
But, she's finally starting to take shape, and can at least now be driven. The supercharger install has been completed, and now it's just a matter of dialing that in, and then there's the interior to be considered...... Ugh.
And Kevin and I are still quibbling over a name. He doesn't want one, and hates the one I want. LOL. How do I win this one? I really want to call her Elvira, cuz she's so vampy looking. He says no way. At the most, he might allow us to call her Three, because she's been a royal pita, needing lots of things three times. And then, when he finally got her inspected in May, she got, would you believe, a "3" sticker on the window because we bought her in March!! When he saw that, he told me "She wants to be Three, that proves it." LOL. So maybe we can call her that. When he's not listening, anyway. Shhhh!
But anyway, here are the latest pics of the beast. Anybody notice any differences from the before (first post) and after shots?
First one to guess right wins.....absolutely nothing!
Nothing in here, nothing up my sleeve....
See the pretty wheeeeels....
Supercharger! (He says yes, he agrees, the blue sucks now with the black car, so the blue is going, and we'll be switching to black one of these days, and the intake piping will all eventually be stainless. And someday......does it ever end???)
New kick *** battery. Fits like it was made for a 928...once he figures out a new hold down, of course.
(for the curious, that's an ODY-PC1700MJT -- 1055 cranking amps; 13x6-1/2x7", from Summit Racing -- longer ground cable required)
Seats are ok....the reeesst....not so much.
And that's all folks! For now.
(Gratuitous multi 928 pic. I love pissing off the evil neighbor on the other side of those bushes there by having them both in the driveway staring at her and her perpetually parked 944 rotting away under a cover. Muahhaahahahah!!! )

OOh, I know, I know. The difference is a little bit of plumbing under the hood. Tell Kevin that's adding weight and probably slowing it down. I'll take it off his hands if he wants to part with it.
Looks great Leslie.
I think instead of just 3, how about 'Number 3'?
Can't wait to see it, hear it, and see it run on the dyno.
I'm on the fence now about redoing my intake over the next few weeks. I'm afraid I might screw something up and miss the dyno day, but right now it looks like crap and I've got all the parts I need (I think) sitting on the bench.
Decisions, decisions...

(Give you all a hint....you see them in the very first pic, first post, and in my signature pics, you don't see them in the first pic of last night's post.)
