Post Strosek(?) Gullwing for sale

I came across this ad tonight; the car is practically in my backyard (okay, about 180 miles away!). But it's not often this kind of conversion is seen in these parts. It looks like a Strosek conversion

Don't forget the currency conversion... Isn't it something like $1US = $500C.. eh!

actually $23,500C is ~ $16,000US maybe not such a bad deal...

Nicole, Is that the correct link you posted? Looks like a plain 928.

The first car is a deal for that price.

Man, if you could get that thing to pass DOT and EPA, that would be sweet. Or maybe I'll move to Canada, hmmmm....

That one is far from 'normal'.

edit - ah, I see the source of your comment, the cars are changing in that link. Now it's showing a 944 turbo! Sorry about that.

I just love the laws in Canada. If you do not pay the shop bill on your vehicle they can repossess it. When I was living in florida, I did some repossession, I got an order for a $100,000 semi truck that didn't finish paying for its $1200 worth of tires in Canada. Boy that sucks!

Living here in Canada, I am fairly certain that our emissions regulations are more stringent and will pass emissions requirements in the US. I've had several friends move south and take their cars with them with no special changes, including or speedos which have both imperial and metric units. Not so the other way, though. A number of years ago, I was trying to import a Land Cruiser from OK. The speedo and emissions were fine but since the Airbag warning sticker was in English only, I needed to have that replaced with an English/French sticker!

Yes, we have Mechanics' Leins here, as they are referred to. Unless you have a special rapport with your mechanic, the car doesn't leave the shop. However, that's just good business anyways!

If you're really serious, email me; Calgary is about 2.5 hours away and I've got motorhead friends there. I used to have an '84 928S so am familiar with all the typical problems.

I think I've seen the '80 in my parkade...if it's the same one it's a very well kept / clean unit.

The '86 .....wow...I think I may have to go take a look at this one....and my '85 5 sp may need a new home.

The links on that site seem to keep changing. Last night when I clicked the first link, a basic red '78 928 with BBS rims came up. The link I posted was for a miniature 911 convertible (for children - real cool). Today, the links show very different cars, including that Strosek conversion. Not sure how this site is managed, but it sure is confusing...

That mini 911 cabrio has been for sale forever. I'd love to see my 4 year-old in it but he's not taht careful about shopping cart dings.

There's also a '87 S4 in Vancouver at Siyam Motors for C$19,500. It's been for sale for over a year...run, run like the wind...in the opposite direction!
