Default Some people have no respect for Sharks

After getting stranded with no battery power a few days ago (yes, I knew the battery was weak, but since the car started, I thought I was still OK), I finally got a new battery today. This is my third battery in less than four years, so I'm kind of getting very experienced in replacing these things...

After I was done I decided to take the car to the hardware store; needed some stuff for a small house repair project. I parked a little further away from the rest of the cars, so nobody would ding my car.

When I came back, I thought somebody had broken into my car. There was glass all over the pavement next to my right front wheel. On a closer look, it seemed somebody had smashed a glass bottle about 2 feet from my front wheel.

Fortunately there was no visible damage on my car. But it sure drives me crazy that people are so inconsiderate...

Might just have been an accident, but I think you're right, it was intentional.

I don't think it's a lack of respect though, I think it's the thing that makes punks vandalize works of art. They can't create anything so they figure they are just as powerful if they can destroy it.

Sometimes kids around here will put a bottle behind the wheel so when you pull out, technically you break it with your wheel and then you're very likely to pop your tire as well.

Glad there was no real damage.

Probably intentional, recently had a redneck throw a beer bottle at my car while driving and another time a redneck spit on my windshield at a stoplight. You gotta love Panama City Beach.

Consider getting a battery tender to keep your charge up. Also check the alternator belt tension. They can slip during charging cycles.

Glad your beautiful car is intact. That car is lucky to have you as an owner.

I'm thinking that with Florida's new relaxing of self defense laws there is a decent chance you could convince a judge down there you were afraid he might infect you with some life threatening disease if he spit again and that's why you felt he was an imminent threat the moment you shot him... Judge banging his gavel-"Case dismissed, Darwin claims another idiot from the gene pool! Bailiff, return the gentleman's pistol and release him from custody".

I find that most people are sheep when it comes to parking their cars. I always park away from everyone else, only to come out of the store to see a whole flock of sheep cars parked around mine, even tho there may be plenty of open spaces much closer. Drives me crazy!

That's because you're not in on this. Everybody with a regular or crap car knows you are obliged to park really close next to a car thats trying to park farthest away from everybody else. They teach you that in the regular or crap car club. Unfortunately you're not one of them. Sort of like when Eddy Murphy went under cover on SNL as a white man, only to discover that white folks party in a city bus and have chicks in bikinis there when they are among themselves. There's a secret world out there.

My driver's ed instructor taught us all how to park by using the fenders of other cars as guides. Of course, I had already heard complaints from my father about the sheep, so on and so forth, and we had a good laugh about this. Think about it. Most people won't question this nonsense.

I remember that SNL Murphy skit. One of the funniest things I ever saw! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

I even had a loser spit at my car as I passed him. He was doing 50 in a 55mph zone. Remember, the world needs losers too you know.

Not 928 damage but related none the less. One of my co-workers here just bought a 2004 white Corvette (auto) with about 33k on the clock. (I got to drive it the other day, whole nuther story). Anyway, he has had it one week. He let his son (22 years old) drive it to Fry's electronics last weekend. When his son comes back outside after shopping, there is a four foot scratch (keyed) down the side of the car from the gas tank on down. Makes me wish I had that James Bond explosive reactive armor.

There is no accounting for human stupidity. As low as you think it can go, it only goes lower.

Glad to hear there was no damage Nicole.
