Leave the air pump on the bench along with all the associated plumbing; I haven't had mine on (in fact I sold it) for years now and can't see where it made any diff in balance.

Replace the OEM Cats with an X and modern cats that don't need the air line.............more power from less weight sans pump, more power from the X and green happy with the modern cats or as Andrew said.........

Nah, I like overpaying for my home mortgage, gas prices and the 362 days of 75 degree weather. I go to Hawaii for the 3 days of rain here in California
So by running upgraded cats, you don't need the air pump. Calif looks under hood for the air pump, etc.? Don't they?

My smog guy asks me to point out the air pump for him, and asks if the cats are still in place. It's a tough inspection!
