Post 928 Racers...

I'm currently doing research on 928 race cars for a feature page I want to include on my site.

Please, if you have info on 928 racers, past & present and on or off the web, let me know.

Thanx in advance...

I know of several, but I'm sure there are many more that I am not aware of.

In alphabetical order they are:
Mark Anderson (928 International) - Currently in the Speedvision GT series.

Kim Crumb - PCA's 928 guru and performance driver. Many first place finishes in numerous types of high speed events. He's even set a few records.

Mark Kibort - A west coast racer. Also to be in the next Speedvision GT race.

David Lloyd - (Independent) - A Connecticut Yankee who races everywhere he can get to in three days or so.

James Morrison - (Independent) Races in with the SW PCA crowd.

Bill Suhosky (Independent) Races Tilo's supercharged beast in the Mid Atlantic region.

Marc Thomas - (DEVEK) - Closed Road Racer with many very high speed runs, some over 200 MPH.

Susan Thomas (DEVEK) - Same as Marc, and has a fastest women's record to show for it.

Tim Westby (independent) - Another Texas 928 racer.

Somebody, please add to the list.

Ed, thanx for the list of names. Now allow me to be cheeky and ask you this: Where on the web can I find info on these drivers / cars?

BTW, did you know Mark Anderson is racing at Sears Point this weekend? I've also been in touch with Bill Suhosky and was surprised to find he's got the Tilo car up for sale at the moment...

And on a more international note, how 'bout names like Tarek Bisher and JP van Kol?

I think we'll all be surprised by the outcome of a well-researched portfolio of 928 racers. In fact, I remember seeing a pic somewhere on the web of a 928 that competed and finished in the Le Mans 24hrs, but for the life 'o me I can't remember where I saw it.

Anyway, I may not be the best qualified person to compile a 928 racing portfolio, but it's about time someone picks up the challenge and you know how the saying goes: "It's a dirty job, but someone blah di blah..."

You can check the progress on my web page...

Thanx.

Wink

I've seen the photo of the 928 that ran in Lemans. It finished, but did not place high enough to be a contender. I have a book that has a brief right-up on it.

Also, the Factory boasted about a 928 win at the Nurburgring and that it competed at Daytona.

I'm sure there are lots of 928 racers who did and do well with their cars. Keep asking, and more info will trickle in.

BTW, I've ridden with Mark Anderson. He is very fast, even when it's not his car. YMMV.
