Post valve deposits

My intake valves have ALOT of deposits built up on them probably from leaking CIS injectors. What is the best way to clean them up sans pulling the motor apart. ANY good injector/ valve cleaners? Ordered all new injectors changed the fuel filter. 78 5 speed

Swepco makes a very good injector cleaner, but the product (503) is not easy to find. You might find it at a truck stop. Techtron is good as well.

As with any injector cleaner added to the fuel, use it when you plan to make lots of short trips. The cleaners work best when allowed to sit on the valves for a while. Do not use it if you plan to go a long distance without shutting off the engine. All you'll be doing is cleaning the fuel lines. YMMV.

thanks Ed , the same post has been on 928S4 board all week with no response. Wonder if those guys are more concerned with how to polish a wheel or dream about more HP.

Techron is a very good product. You can find it at most auto parts stores. It runs about 5 to 8 dollars per container (depending on size). I use it once per oil change (I average about 4000 miles a year). I use the larger size for SUV's and such. The 928 has a large enough gas tank/engine for this. Back in the day there was only Techron. Now there are a few more products (under the Techron name). I suggest using only Techron/Techron.

Thumbs up

IMHO the best carbon deposit remover on the market is BG44K. No affiliations just a hardcore pessimest. This is the most concentrated version of carbon removers I've seen. I owned a Saab 9000 Aero, with severe carbon build-up. My mechanic at the time time removed the head we inspected carbon deposits he re-installed the head and added the treatment, 3 days of driving and two tanks of fuel later the head was removed and the inner sufaces appeared brand new, I had to see it with my own two eyes..Amazing stuff. Do a search on google for, carbon deposits,bg44k you will see this stuff is highly effective.
