Default Body work almost done!

My 87 should be back at my shop tomorrow after a very long time.
I checked on it today and they have finished with the color sanding and buffing.

I still have a long way to go, got to finish the motor and install it, which is getting closer.
Plus all the little things that are going to come up from having a car tore down as far as this one is.

Wheels and tires are going to be done, that kinda goes with out saying.

I have to say that it looks really good, the GTS rear fenders and the S4 rear bumper cover give it a look that really turns me on.

This part of the saga will be over tomorrow, now, I get to start working on it again.

Here are a few teaser pictures, more as soon as it gets back to my shop.

I am thinking of calling it the "SGTS4" after the blower goes in or just the "Black Car".

This is Scott, the painter a few days ago. It had not been blocked or buffed at this point.

There was a very small imperfection in the clear, they took care of that on the front of the rear fender.

Lots of dust on the front fenders here.

Closer

That's shiny, even before the blocking and buffing!

I have not seen it out in the sun yet, but it looks flat, smooth and shinny now.
It really makes a big difference when they take the time to color sand and buff.
I have fell in love with the car once again.
I can see what it is going to look like in my mind, all I need now is a lot of extra money.

Did they leave the lower trim pieces on the door while painting?

No, everything, and I mean everything came off the car.

You are just seeing a reflection in that picture, the trim is not on the door there.

I saw a reflection that goes perfectly parallel on both doors, exactly where the trim would be. However, it did not continue on the quarter panels behind.

If I were you, I'd double check to be sure... And have them redo the doors, if they left the pieces on!

Yes, that is the way it stays on there, they may be on in these pictures, but they were off at one time, that I am sure of because I took them off.

Yea, get some window tint so dark, my moma wont even know it's me.

I could get by with it around here, but 30 miles from here might be a different story on the window tint, but it would look good.

I thought the door trim pieces also had some sort of fasteners. Am I mistaken?

If I remember right there are some pin like things that stick out, I have a picture of them off here some where.
Of course it has been over a year since I took them off, but they were off at one point.

They were on in those pictures, I just talked to the painter.
