Post Bad dealers and questionable sources

After following the threads for this topic and reading Max's suggestion, maybe this will become a new Admin folder for us to add to.

So, with this in mind....

I'll start with eBay frauds that I know of personally:

Lifestyle 26 - He prides himself in selling 928 Parts that are either cheapo homemade replacements (like a plywood spare tire cover vs. the real thing). Beware of this guy if you value your checkbook.

Others hopefully will add to this list.

So Jay,
What did you do with the plywood? Did it fit?
I keep learning the same lessons over and over,
my self.
The rip off registry sounds good, and our lesser brethren on the Rennlist might do well to start one too.

My contribution is then to avoid ebay handle "electro-depot" or a person named Mark Shackelford from Dallas TX, and environs. He's moving around now and reappears when he's in need of funds. He takes your check and doesn't send the item. He's allegedly ordered parts from vendors and individuals and charged them back on his credit card or he just doesn't pay.

Hey John-

Yeah - it works well. Just a cut out based on the original plastic & foam unit, oh and spray painted black.

When I bid on it - he had a picture of the original style - so that is what I thought I was getting.

Nice feeling of getting ripped for $35 for a piece of (*&^%#$.

My mistake - his gain.

Hi Jay,

Let us know how the Project 928 book looks. I was one of the earlier bidders on it (dtxscott). That was some nice sniping on your part.

The seller claimed as mint..... I'm skeptical, but hope it's in great condition for you. <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />

Uhhhh...sorry Scott, but I just HAD to have it (especially after Tony Vega$ sniped me out of the last one I had my eye on).

Hopefully no hard feelings....

Jay,

No hard feelings at all.

I had that $$$ earmarked for fuel injection refurbishing anyway. In a way, you did me and Herr Schwartz Auto a favor. He will be getting clean injectors sooner rather than later.

I hope you enjoy the book.

Scott-

Give Cruizin Performance a shot at your injector cleaning. I sent mine there last winter. Quick turn around and very reasonable on the checkbook. Same service as Marren Motorsports - just not as pricey.

Cruzin did a great job on my injectors too. Not bad pricing at all, I think it was around $150.00 with next day air each way.

Thanks!
I'm glad you responded. I could not, for the life of me, remember the name of Cruzin.

You just saved me some dough.

Many thanks.

If you call them. Talk to Rich, he's the owner. If you need them turned around quickly he probably will help you out. If everyone here mentions we heard about him from Rennlist when we deal with him, maybe we can get a few bucks off here and there. Never hurts to ask.
