Thoughts for you owners in the U.S.: Stay away from the red, blue, green, etc colors for these that might cause you to be mistaken for any kind of emergency vehicle. At least here in California, having anything red facing forward will get you a ticket and a fine in pretty short order.
A guy working on a project in California was ticketed because of the tall red lexan bug shield at the leading edge of the hood on his already-red Cherokee. We argued the case in front of the local judge and lost.
Just a thought, especially for thos who live or might drive in the great and socialist state of California.

The ugly rule of thumb is:
Look at the 18 wheelers in your area, take note of the light lenses, reflectors and location of those colors - front, side or rear. The DMV/DPS should have booklets related to that issue including height, spacing and maximum mega wattage data.
If all else fails ask the guy's who write the tickets where to find the info... beats getting a ticket. Odd colors even if not illegal will attract Police attention.
