Thanks for posting the additional pictures and I agree, the flush mount looks much better.

RE Payment: I've used paypal to collect internationally, check out www.paypal.com. It's pretty simple to sign up and establish an account and the you don't have to wait for the mails.

Very thorough presentation of the options available, Pierre.

I'd recommend offering the lenses all predrilled, including the extended fasteners with black or chrome heads, depending on the lens color - a nice turn-key custom modification right out of the box - just screw 'em on!

That's it!

I'm finally ready to take orders for front and rear covers, flushmounts or direct mounts. Payment thru PayPal.

And a BIG THANK YOU to all who showed interest and helped with advice, especially Randy V.

Guys, I'll be posting pics of the rear covers soon.

So far we're only looking at flush-mounted rear covers for S models, but that's only because no-one has asked for S4 rear covers. I geuss we could make for S4's too, if you want.

Guys, thanx for your patience up to now. The front covers are ready to roll, but seeing that most of you want rear covers as well, there has been a slight delay in getting these ready.

When we trial-fitted the first pre-S4 rear lenses last weekend, we noticed a slight imperfection in the profile of the mould. Nothing much, but if we're going to do it we may as well do it right. What we're doing now is rectifying the profile with body filler so that we can get the rear lenses as perfect as the front ones.

Therefore I need to ask you guys to hang in a little longer, say towards the end of next week to be safe. I promise it'll be worth the wait.

Pics will follow as soon as they're ready.

Thanx.

Cool

Hello 928 Maniac,
Is there a possiblity of getting the lense cover in a dark smoke, for a black on black car? I'm not sure the bronze would look right on a blk/blk vehicle. Anyway, let me know. Also, anxiously awaiting the pics of the rear lense covers on the pre-s4 vehicles.
Thanks

To John N. No, unfortunately there's no Dark Smoke available, but I promise you Dark Bronze covers looks sweet on a dark car. We've recently fitted some on a charcoal colored 928 (which is almost black anyway) and they looked `natural'.

As for pics of the rear ones, please hang in there a 'lil longer. We're making good progress and I'll post them pics soon-soon.

Thanx.

Question

How much do the dark colors reduce the light from the fogs and running lights?

What happened to the lense cover project? 928 Maniac has disappeared off the side of the Earth! We've had nine shark attacks in Florida this week. I wonder if he was one of the victims?

Angry

Hello, I'm back at last.

I guess in a way I WAS a shark attack victim - the dealer I bought my PC from being the shark. My hard drive crashed and I first had to fight to have it replaced under warranty, then after installing a new hard drive and some upgrades, something else turned out faulty, resulting in more fights with the same dealer...

That's the short version. You don't wanna hear the long one. What matters is that I'm back on-line and I'm as eager as you guys are to finally get this thing off the ground.

Here's the latest on the Lense Covers: The front & rear moulds for pre-S4 flush-mounts are complete and we've actually started producing them.

They look sweet, but the fastening idea of a shaft to support the self-tapping screws did not work. The lenses kept on pulling to a side and did not seat properly into the body recesses. Believe it or not, there is also differences in how the driving lights sit in the body from car to car, even with cars of the same year model, so we canned the idea of using self tappers for fasteners.

The actual fitting is important and it must look professional, so after numerous trials we came up with a clear plastic Velcro product from 3M that we can attach to small squares (5mm thick X 20mm wide & long) of clear Perspex.

I believe this method will eliminate the need for drilling and allow enough tolerance for the differences from car to car. You would simply attach the Perspex squares to your car with the clear velcro and then attach the Lense Cover to the squares in the same manner. (The squares will obviously be mitred to suit the correct angle for the rear pods.)

We intend doing our first trial fitting of this method Tommorow. Stay tuned.

ps. I'm truly sorry about the delay. It will be worth it in the end, I promise.
