Radio not shutting off
This afternoon when I parked my car, by radio didn't turn off when I pulled the key from the ignition. I sat there for a while thinking about it, and after about 10 minutes it went off on it's own. Bad relay?

check the CE panel for corrosion check all of the fuses, also check all of the relays, any pins on any relays that are corroded should be opened and checked for internal damage, if you do find corrosion you should not let the car get wet till you reseal the lower blower box assembly. Actually - I think the most likely culprit is the ignition switch. The radio supply doesn't come from the CE panel (its direct from the ignition switch) and it isn't fused there nor is there any relay involved...
In a practical sense - try wiggling the key between off & accesssory positions and see if it sometimes goes off which would confirm this is the cause.

I tried jiggling the key when I first observed the problem and it didn't work, but on your advice I tried again and you're right. In fact, if I remove the key, insert it again partway and lightly jiggle it will cut power to the stereo.
Solution and implications? Do I need a whole new ignition switch, and if so will I need a new set of keys as well? Hoping it can be rekeyed...

The ignition switch you need to replace is the part that screws onto the backside of the place you put the key. The key / lockset is not involved.

It's not an uncommon repair.
I just want to know why the switch used to be a 928 part, and now it's got a part # prefix beginning with 964? Did 964 owners start to whine that their cars would no longer be "real" Porches if they had parts from water cooled cars?
