Fried Dashboard Computer/Odometer
Has anyone here with an 89 or later experienced any dashboard "frying" issues or similar dash computer failure that required replacing the dash computer and thus changing the electronic mileage. A car I am considering has this issue and I'd like to understand the frequency and cause before I look harder.
If I am misstating the nature of the onboard electronics, I am happy to be corrected.
Drove the Audi at Thunderhill today, Rain and hail. Glad to have AWD on the track today!

Seth, just curious why you have two Forum names?
You should be able to use the same Forum name from any computer (assuming you remember your log-on ID and password).

Hmm, sorry--I did not know that. I'm less computer literate than the average 9 yr old. I'll have to go look them up (or request them) and then login as the "old" me and not the "home" me. My computer at work has been automatically "logging" me in for a couple of years now.
