And oh yeah, John... give it hell, man. Good luck. May the BWAAHHH be with you.

Good luck John !
Just remember to take off all of those blankets and tarps around your engine before you start it up. Don't want any of those things sucked up into your beast.
Thanks again for the fans.

I don't think there is much "redneck factor" in driving with your hood off. It probably isn't a good idea long term, but I drove my car to a local 7-11 sans hood while I was replacing the insulation one night, and wound up with a small crowd of kids around the car. I wound up spending an hour talking cars- and the milk I bought got warm.

Well, last night was a no-go as well. I had a freak accident while adjusting that damn tempermantal twin disk clutch. The socket I was using to hold the release arm in place popped out and slammed me right below the eye.
It was 45 minutes to Kroger and back to get butterfly closure bandages to put my face back together. Actually, it was a short (1/4"), but pretty deep gash. I decided against stitches and went with some new liquid bandage (glue) instead. I didn't want some inexperienced intern stitching my face up at 1:30 AM. Plastic surgeon, yes, but not some overworked ER person.
I was SOOO close too. I just have to double check the clutch adjustment, put the starter in and hook up the power and she is ready to rip. Should be 2 or so more hours on the floor and I'm done!!!!
Once it is running, I can focus on the fun part....getting it dialed in. Jeez, this project is wearing me out and those around me aren't all that happy either...
Tom, that is Jugalicious! The run to Autozone was just for a 3' piece of Goodyear rubber fuel injection hose for the Microfueler.

John,
Sorry to hear about the cut. Sounds like you are saving yourself a whole load of money doing the project yourself. You will also have the satisfaction of knowing you rebuilt your own engine. I hope it all turns out well.
