If you plan on sticky rubber 18" rims are better/more choices.
I have ran a 245 on a 7.5" rim and it worked perfectly, you need to check with the manufacture to confirm what rim with there tires work with.

Thanks to everyone for your pics and comments. You have very nice rides. It looks like 18" is the way to go!
Please feel free to keep posting if you can find more pics of cars with this wheel.

Hacker and Bimmer these rims are 18" right? I think I like these rims the best and might try to find a reasonable priced set. If I was looking on ebay for these tell me exactly what term or terms would I need to search for?

I found a set of TT with:
Front Wheel Specs: 18"x8", 5x130 bolt pattern and 50 offset.
Rear Wheel Specs: 18"x10", 5x130 bolt pattern and 65 offset.
or the
Fronts: 18x8 57mm offset w/235/40R18
Rears: 18x10 58mm offset w/265/40R18
Which offsets would be the best?

Those are Carrera III wheels, standard equipment on some 997s. I've been looking at them too, but I'm in the minority here I think - I actually prefer 17" wheels on a 928. The 18s just look too big, tend to make the car looked jacked to my eyes. Not to mention tires are cheaper and wheels are less susceptible to potholes.

I bought the same set up. Havent put them on yet. The rears look huge. I expected to change the rears to 265/35-18.
I'm glad to see the 265/40's look good in the pics. I expect a bit of lowering is involved in the rear. Probably to the limits of suspension geometry.
