Post Porsche Crest Decals - Anyone Try These???

Hi Sharks,

I have seen some small Porsche crest decals centered on rear bumpers. I have heard of people putting large crests on the side of front fenders. That might look cool. Has anyone seen this? Can someone post a picture? Otherwise, if you install a decal, can you post a picture?

Several sizes of “Looks like a real hood crest! Genuine Porsche Decals”are available. See the link to performanceproducts.com below.

Hey Thom,

I happen to see this pic at The Legend of the Best of the Best Site under "No.8 Dr.928's 928GTS Amazon Green Metallic 92year" in the Members Pics. I think the side emblems look pretty good.

Cool

I love that color. Looks like dark blue on my computer. Is that a factory color? The crests on the sides look really good too. Would like to have that look on my car. Happy x-mas!

Heck, why not order 2 sets of hood emblems and use them on the side? A wee bit more permnanent but would look better than a sticker IMHO.
Once ya drill, no going back .

That car above looks like a Jap Spec car..note the front fenders are flared..no front turn light either.

My 87 has decals like that, minus the writing underneath. They look great in my opinion. Anyone else notice the front fender flares on that car?

It's the same crest that is used on the hood. I am going to do the same mod on my car. Since I don't have the side molding, I think it's going to look even better. I'll post pics... Here is another picture of that GTS

Here is what it would look at on mine. Looks better than I thought it would but still not sure if I would do the drilling to install a hood ornament.

I have opted not to have the rear Porsche Decal or 928S4 decal either but maybe this is the spot for a Porsche decal, hmmmmmm.

Perhaps the 356 mini-me emblem...

Does look good on the red and, no doubt,on the blue.
PorKen,
How did you manage to make the front left on the driverless Red look like it's in motion?

Hi Porken,

Excellent work on the photo enhancements. Can you show us what the gold 4 ¾” crest would look like on the side please?

Also, thanks to the others who have responded. The crests or decals on the sides do look cool!

Thanks to everyone who has helped me this year!

Merry Christmas,
Have a cool yule!

A few more minutes of photoshopping...

Thom - I just guessed the size so YMMV.

I think I might go with a small gold (356) emblem on the side, it reminds me of a Ferrari.

John - I used the lasso tool to select the car, then right-clicked and selected the inverse, then used a motion blur filter to 'move' the background. Then I selected the tires and used a radial blur. (In this last one I used a smaller amount of blur on the hood and windows to match the background)

As with many subjective opinions - "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". What may look good to you may not be up to snuff or kosher to a concours judge.

Remember, if you ever decide to enter a car in a PCA Zone or National level concours competition - whatever has been put on the car since leaving the factory may likely cause it to lose originality points.
