You got it Ryan.
Ken's tensioner is perfect; I essentially installed it with a new belt, bolted it back together and drove the car, 8k kms.
As well as the intake project this winter I'm also resetting the cam timing so shall have the covers off for a good look but from the vents I can see the belt is tracking straight and true.

And the Porsche tensioners have what 60,000 cars with say 100,000 miles average is what 6,000,000,000 MILES . Six Billion that is quite a "test".

the average is somewhat high and a billion has 12 zero's.
either way we agree to differ; the Porsche design while somewhat functional is antiquated.........Ken's design is essentially the plate using modern pieces from Audi et al.
Lets reconvene after say 50,000kms; I'll do my upmost to do the distance asap while procuring any parts required from yourself and our other famed suppliers

What is an Audi ???
quite frankly most of the issues that people think they have had with the Porsche timing belt I believe are faulty installation / failure to replace needed parts . Often by paid "professionals" who do not even own a tension tool let alone know what it is used for... Then when things go badly they blame the tensioner as the part which "failed" so they can charge the customer for their screwups. It was not something they did wrong .... Just as many, many people have paid for "bent valves " on a 16 valve which had a timing belt skip because the shop was SURE it must have bent valves ! Those owners are convinced that their 16 valve bent valves and share that information with others.

Just for the record...."People sometimes ask me the names of the large numbers. The system used in the U.S. is not as logical as that used in other countries (like Great Britain, France, and Germany). In these other countries, a billion (bi meaning two) has twice as many zeros as a million, and a trillion (tri meaning three) has three times as many zeros as a million, etc. But the scientific community seems to use the American system." I will remain illogical and my billion has 9 zeros

Jim is correct. Modern usage is a billion is a thousand million., But a thousand million in some countries and traditionally, is a MILLIARD.

Maybe if the odometers did not break so often the average miles would be higher but the old very brown 1980 SHOWS 800,000 plus on it but I swear it can not be much over 200,000
My take on the miles is somewhat skewed by the fact that most USA 928 get driven all year and many were everyday drivers for the first several years of their life especially in Southern California.

well you learn something new everyday.............I thought you were poking fun H but now see there is a term for 1000 X 1000000 other than the US billion. For all the years I lived on the 'small' island we always reffered to the number as just a number, no name with the billion being 12 zeros as stated.
Perhaps if I live in NA for another few decades my accent will change further and other means of communication will develop when conversing with folks born and bred here.
Its of interest and way off topic but find that when talking with NA's and then with folks of my native tongue my enunciation changes.
