'92 GTS from Japan - CANADIANS????

Puting CDC-101 CD changer type code into Google returns Nakamichi as manufacturer. I have hard time believing Porsche would have used their products no matter how good they are. Without seeing option codes also wood pieces could be installed later to make car more easy to sell.
I would be interested if someone had those front fender flares for sale. With GTS rear fenders they work ok IMHO.

The dude has a credible and LONG history of ebay feedback. That's not easy to come by if your a scammer. Granted not EVERYONE was totally satisfied with the condition of their car it appears that they did get the car that was advertised. It looks like the majority of people who bought cars from him are very satisfied. Some of you just like to be negative and rip on every 928 that you see for sale. "Oh the hood is not on straight enough blah blah blah"....

Does it look good = Yes
Is it interesting car = Yes
Is seller honest = Maybe, he might not know what he is selling and rely on bad info from someone else.
Is it '92 MY GTS = No, too many things in it points to it being S4. First registration date means nothing and Japanise were getting GTS for '92 MY like everyone else. One picture of option sticker would tell a lot.
Redline in dash is ok since its automatic. I forgot that only manual GTS has 6600 at tacho. For some reason automatic GTS still retained 6400 redline even though control box has exact same limit AFAIK.

It should definitely be noted that there were a few unhappy customers, but the guy sells a fair amount of cars and that is the risk you take when you buy a car un-inspected and with no history from another country. One of my reservations would be that despite the low mileage, a car from Japan has most likely spent it's entire life in stop and go traffic. The price is attractive though if your in a gambling mood. I just don't believe it is possible anymore to run a successful Ebay scam using the same seller ID for 7 years with 94% positive feedback. Sure, anything is possible but in my experience on Ebay, fraud involving such expensive items is vigorously investigated and exposed.

From my extensive and expensive experience with a Japanese 928, I'd say the same thing applies to this car as any other used 928 - Namely, get a PPI. The car looks beautiful, but so does mine. Remember that beauty is only skin deep and it's the stuff under the skin that gets expensive.
The cloth seats & wood trim don't do anything for me, but to each his own. My advice would be to proceed with extreme caution and that's not even taking into consideration the hoops you'd have to go to if you wanted to get the car registered in the U.S.

Hey Malcolm...I agree any buyer should be cautious and especially be aware. I had my eyes "wide open" when I picked up Ken's car. Still, I like to see how deep I can get in before I have to scream uncle. I should post some pics but it's pretty much in pieces now...the tough part will be remembering how to put it back together

Thats funny Mike.............you wont have to remember how the engine goes back together when there's a complete replacement.
All we need now is Colin from Olds to chime in to complete the complement.....
BTW.........really interested in helping out............be good practice before I R&R mine.

With respect to the wood. I have wood option on my '94 GTS, and the wood shifter that I had as OE, and it appears that this car has would be VERY difficult to "knock off". The OE option cost for that piece of wood alone was ~$500. The whole wood package option was ~$5,000.
