Default Tranny Pees Fluid after R&R

My 88 auto just came back together. We had replaced torque tube, all tranny seals and torque converter bearings. Upon first start, the thing pees fluid from the torque converter area like it's going out of fashion .... looks to be coming from both the front and rear of the holes .... the converter itself has no fluid on it.
Thoughts?

H- the only thing I can think is possibly nicked front pump seal while reinstalling converter? And I'am shure you replaced drain plug in converter-right?

Plug is dry as a bone ... torque converter too. The moment I start the car, it just pees fluid from inside the converter area but clearly not the converter itself. Almost as if there's a seal missing.

H did you replace the front pump O ring? ( it is about 12in in diameter)usually this is the one thats causing the leak also consider replacing the torque converter radial seal that goes into the pump housing and dont forget to put a smear of grease on the bronze bushing inside the radial seal otherwise this will cause the snout of the torque converter to seize on the bushing and ruin the front pump.
So for the leak if there isnt a hose leaking then the trans must come out to fix these problems

...especially since it's probably peeing red.

H, another possibility... are any of the shaft seals wiper seals? Could you have installed one backwards?

You could have cut/ damage the front seal when the torque converter was install. Other possibilities, pump O-ring, front pump must be dissembled to replace. A worn pump bushing, what the torque converter hub rides on. If it’s a recent leak then it’s the seal, since the transmission must be removed for any repairs, I would change all of the above.
Use Vaseline, grease doesn’t melt when heated = bad in an auto transmission.

H, when you remove the front pump bolts( there are 9 i think) it will only go in one way but there is a very thin paper gasket behind the front pump housing if it comes out in one piece dont try to remove it just use it over, wipe it clean as well as its mating surface. I like to use dow corning 111 on all of the O rings it lets them live a longer life and they slide where they are supposed to go. Steve Cattano suggested to use vaseline on the front bushing , at any rate make sure you put some kind of lubricant on this bushing so the torque converter doesent seize to it, if you installed the torque converter with this bushing dry then you should see if this hasnt already happend. Also look for the bushing fittment IE is it tight in its bore? If this has happened then you need a new pump housing, a used one with a good bushing will work

Steve, Stan, Michael, Matt, thanks so much for your advice. Steve ... I think we must have cut a seal, and perhaps forgotten to replace the 12-in pump seal. Matt, yes I thought about possibly installing seals backwards, not likely but possible.

The thing that SUCKS is that I have to undo EVERYTHING .. ie rear susoension comes back off; rear crossmember comes back off; trans comes back out (after exhaust and heat shields) ... and then the reverse again ... I really do not enjoy this work ... and I have had a quart of tranny fluid all over me so many times ....

Stan, I will check for the gasket etc. I really do not recall opening the pump, I think we just didn't. I will be sure to remember the vaseline ... the motor hasn't been started many times, possibly 6 times, and just about 5 seconds at a time. So ... should be OK. Thanks you guys I'd just pull and replace this thing with a spare I have sitting here but ... it has LSD ... so ,....
