Default Stroker with factory ECU's-will it work?

Has anyone installed a modified stroker & still kept the factory ECUs? (and used the ST) Basically what I'm trying to determine is, when I put the stroker in the car will it start & run at all with the stock ECUs? I know it wouldn't run perfectly but will it run well enough to drive it to someone with a Shark Tuner? Or will I need a Shark Tuner standing by upon installation. I've gotten yes & no answers from several people who aren't quite sure but I'd like to know for sure.
Thanks, Hammer

Yes Anderson and Fan both use factory brains...as have others. And it will actually run quite well !

Jim, Does it run right 'out of the gate' or must it be Shark Tuned first?

From what I can tell, the LH is extremely forgiving. With or without the Sharktuner, you should be fine. You would have gains from Sharktuning the EZF/EZK for your engine.

Mark A and Joe F's cars were stroked long before the Sharktuner existed.

For many years both cars ran....before there was a sharktuner. Most of the Devek strokers ran all stock. I understand that you are planning for more power but up to 500-550 you would only need bigger injectors ...larger mass air.

I'm using 30lb. injectors, ITB's with an airbox fed by the MAF.

Let's see'em!

Btw, i going to put the stroker in the Holbert car and will probably not change the injectors. Im hoping 75psi on the fuel rails willl be ok.

I do remember, anderson having to go back to stock injectors when his stroker was running a little fat.

If i only expect 400rwhp, thats only a 80hp gain, or near 20%. I would think with a near 20% increase in fuel pressure over stock, it should be close.

Of course I'll do some easy testing on the dyno before i let'er rip.

The scoop will sit on the airbox, (I'm fabbing that up as we 'speak'),protrude through the hood (shaker) & draw air from the base of the windshield.

Thanks, & what diameter throttle plates ? & what other subtle little things do you have planned
that you've been sitting on ?? & those are some pretty nice carbon stacks to.

Thanks for the kind words fellas.
50mm throttles. The tubes & manifold bottom plate transition gradually from round at the top to oval at the bottom to match the ports in the head. What else do you want to know? There's probably 100 'subtle' things I've modified on the engine alone. Did you pack a lunch?

Is it me or is the injector placement less than ideal? Its a bit far from the intake valve isnt it?

What were those TB's for originally? Are those TWM or where did you source them?

They are TWM. Tell me what's wrong with the injector placement?
