Question Temp II sensor ?

What does it do and why are there 2 temp sensors?
I was doing some A/C repairs, and after, on the test drive my water temp gauge was fluctuating and even jumped to the 3rd white line. It has always been steady. I cleaned the terminals on the temp sensor, but have not looked at the temp II. Any suggestions?

The Temp II sensor is for the fuel injection system and has no effect on the cooling system and gauges

Temp I is the air temp sensor built in to the AFM, or a separate sensor in the airbox for MAF.

The sensor for the temp. gauge on the dash has two "blade" style connections with wire on each, and is mounted further toward the back of the engine. The temp. II sensor is located almost under the cross brace and has a "clip" style plug that connects to it.

If you got the blades dirty or cross connected (if possible), it could explain why your temp seems hot - Ruf

Thanks Guys,
Ruf,
Ya, I cleaned those already thinking that was the culprit. I hope I didn't pinch a wire going back to the gauge cluster when I put the center console back in.....
Also the two blade connectors are different size (large-small) so you can't mix that up unless you really try. ; )
I will check that tonight.
