I may have a defunk switch that you can have the stalk from. Mine was not functioning properly due to some of the pins moving in the back of the housing. Got a replacement from a Rennlister but I did drill out the rivets and looked inside - if I recall correctly all of the stalk functioning parts were in place.

I will not be able to check until the weekend but if interested PM me.

Bill et al

I have removed the switch again and it is indeed a 911 part number 964.613.332.00 part.

I'm going to try to fix it if I can get a stalk to try out (Roger as above or on eBay) If not it at least seems a new (possibly used) will be available.

Alan:

Is this the part you need? If not please post photo of the part so I can ship the correct item.

Roger - that is a part that commonly breaks - but mine is OK.

I need the whole stalk lever that this part engages into As below.

For a very small price Roger did supply me with the stalk from his broken switch (thanks). This stalk still had the main spring & cancel wings intact (see the difference...).

I did compare it to the GTS version and though the business end inside the switch is basically the same - the stalk itself was a different length (a longer offset from the steering column before it curves) - presumably due to the second short stalk (OBC) the main stalk was made longer.

After some investigation (and a trial on the broken version) it became apparent that the stalk part is removable from the rotating switch activator by pressing out a friction pivot spindle...

So I was able to swap the GTS lever to the earlier style rotating switch terminals. I also swapped the spring detent unit because the GTS version uses a different kind of nylon that seemed to work more smoothly...

Now self cancelling works - I need to pull the switch again to adjust the high beam switch which is now giving me high beams all the time... but I know how to fix that since it happened before...

So some work - but the combination switch can be repaired!

Roger Big thanks!

Alan you ROCK I do have a question for everyone though. My turn signals appear to not work when it's very cold. Has anyone ever experienced this? Jason

Alan:

Glad it worked out in the end. This is a great because I know that there are many of these assemblies that are replaced because one of the various features is broken - in my case it was the cruise control stalk - but now we can mix and match parts as necesary.

What screws did you use to replace the original rivets?

I drilled out the rivets on the front plate side - then punched them out through the back - then countersunk the holes into the cover plate...

I used countersunk self tapping screws sized to fit to resecure the front - they are flush to the front face...

Works quite well & pretty easy to do... Switch reassembly is a bit tricky but you get good at it with practice...
