Default how to properly care for a second motor and tranny

I bought an 86.5 parts car not to long ago. I had the whole drive train removed and gave the the rest of the car to the guy that removed the stuff for me.

I will bring it all home and it can all go in my garage. But it may be years before I use it. How should i store this thing?

I think the 5 speed is going to go in soon. My first gear on my current tranny makes a grinding noise while coasting. So I am not too worried about it.

any advice would be great.

Thanks
Kyle

I'd make sure it has plenty of oil in it (extra won't hurt). Maybe spin the oil pump w/ a drill to pump it around.

Then take out the spark plugs and spray in some Sea Foam and put the plugs back in. Then tape up the intake and exhaust ports to keep moisture out.

I was thinking about dropping some of those "do not eat" bags in the ports. (Of couse in a way they could be removed when ready) plus it is 12 degrees here.... not a lot of moisture in the air right now.

thanks I will use the seafoam stuff also!
