Default unusual 85 5spd on ebay

I'll run the vin on monday, but if it's correct I think this is the only Guards Red over Grey-Green made
and it's a 5spd w/SPORT SEATS!! I doubt the mileage but what an odd combination

Definitely a weird combo. I last saw the gray-green interior paired with Granite/Rock Green exterior on an '88 I was looking at, that combo worked pretty well. The sport seats and the 5spd make it an interesting car, but the Guards and Olive combination is a little to 'unique' for me.

Congrats, Rixter.
You've found a stuffed Piemento Olive.

Wonder who ordered this combo.

My guess is that it has a minimum of 100,000 miles on it. Probably replaced the speedometer/odometer. Seats are pretty worn. Intake is peeling, etc. I'm not knocking the car, it's just not a low miler

too bad about the door speakers hopfully they used one or two of the old mounting holes, .yeah thats right lets try to put a square peg into a round hole. .The speedo looks like it is old given the color of the tenths, it is not the correct milage , the engine bay is very dirty and used looking for the milage, the seats are worn and the hatch seal looks like its leaking onto the rear seats. As far as the color combo goes maybe the OO liked dirty Martinies, hence the olive and red combo, I wonder how this interior would look in a Burgundy car/..........

+1

Two distinct possiblities:

A) One-of-a-kind US-spec '85 928, ordered with hideous color combination and spoiler-delete by someone daring to be different with their ~$45K.

B) The typical frankenstein restoration using an interior from another car and losing the spoilers during a repaint.

Hmmmm....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I would like to see that grey-green interior in a black or meteormetallic car, maybe. But not red.
I think one of Shanes is now that color combo...the interior has more of a gray look...with subtle green hints..It looks pretty good in my opinion. Now about that 19k miles..hmmm...rough short life that one has had...but still pretty cool 928..
Been looking at it myself - I like the commbiation if it is original.
I have an '85 brochure and you could have actually ordered this color combination. There was a Green-Gray leather option with Gray carpets. Not a bad combo.
If I had the space .... for $1,000 car with "whatever" mileage it might have, wouldn't be a bad "extra" car.
Maybe the odometer is correct and the actual mileage is 1,018,835! It just rolled over.
How do you wear out a seat bolster in 18,000 miles? Give me a break.
Owner swears its the original mileage - but get this - the reserve is $20,000.
If he does not get $20k he is going to keep it 8>)
Been repainted though the owner states it was originally Guards Red.
He said the repaint is very poor - his own words.
I am going off to find some of the stuff he is smoking so I can go and sell my Weissach for $100k
