Non factory wheels! I am starting to shop around for different wheels, and haven't decided what to get. Anyone who is happy with their wheels, please post a picture.

Thanks

These are ATP's 17" Razze wheels with Kuhmo rubber. I like them.

They came with the car when I got it. I suspect that they came from 928 Specialists since the car came from that side of the country.

Ed: What's up with your pictures? Lots of the jpg images come out funky. How do you save them? On what kind of computer? Something is wrong...

Normy, does your car have increased ride height in the back? Or perhaps lowered in the front? I only ask because I have basically the same version and doesn't seem to "slant" up toward the back. Is that because of the wheels? Or maybe I should stop reading this forum after having double jack-and-cokes.

Also, I kind of like the way you dealt with the lousy "add-on" lights from the importer. I'm thinking of doing something relatively bad, which is ripping the damn things all the way out with their wiring and using (god forbid) bondo to fill the holes. Beats replacing the body panels.

Flint- you've flinty eyes-

Good catch. My car actually does indeed sit slightly low at the front- it is 24.75 inches both front and rear from the ground to the highest point of the wheel arches. This means that it is completely level. And it means that I need one of your rum and cokes~

That pic was taken behind the local Wal-Mart....where I bought the cheap krylon paint to hide the tacked on side marker lights until I repaint the car and fill the holes.....[and remove the rub strip: I love the smooth look]

As always, I'm with Normy on side markers and "rub strips" (side moldings). But, Normy, I think your car is too low in the front. Mine looked like that, too, before I had the ride height readjusted. While the car looked real cool, it is unbelievable how much better it handles with the correct ride height - especially in fast, bumpy turns.

I don't know, if what I experienced was "bump steer", but I can say that it was a lot harder to direct the car through the turn, as it seemed to not follow my steering commands as precisely. Again, I can't describe it in the proper terms - all I can say is that it is worlds better now.

Nicole-

The roads here tend to either be billiard-table smooth...or perfectly straight, so I haven't noticed any bump steer, not that I am in any way an expert. But from a thread that I read in February and from what you've said, I am starting to think that I should probably find that funny wrench I have lurking around here somewhere and adjust the front heighth. I had the car correctly aligned at a good shop, but the front tires are still wearing on the inside edge- looks like I'll get another 5k miles on them at best. These are 300 treadwear tires supposedly good for 30k miles...I'll wind up getting about 20K I think~

As I recall, most of the photos were probably saved by Paint Shop Pro 7, maybe also Photoshop 7. Now, if by "funky", you're questioning the ugly guy in some of the photos, well, that's another problem, and there's not much I can do about that. Blame my parents.
