Just spotted these on ebay while browsing for 928 stuff in my lunch hour..
Linky
Given they came off a Japanese '86, they'll fit over S4 brakes.
Anyone seen anything like these before or know who makes 'em? I'd love to know if they can be found in a 17x9 as well
(They don't have offset/size numbers by the valve, so I don't think they're original Porsche)
Oh.. no affiliation etc.

are the wheels actually 17" or did the seller measure them incorrectly?
I am pretty sure there was never a factory 17" phone dial, but they could be aftermarket. I suspect the seller didnt measure them properly though and went with the outer lip or something

Todd made them for the previous owner of my 79 many years ago.
They are almost worthless since there are not any good tires for that size rim available anymore.
Ryan,
They look like standard 16" wheels to me, guy needs a new measuring tape

The 944 turbo cup cars in '86 had 9"x16" et70 magnesium phone dials. They were like 16lbs each.
A few sets have been for sale in the last 2 years, but tire selection is a big question mark.
p.s. those pd's have got to be 16" in the link.

I bet he measured the rim from edge to edge. This will give a false reading and another inch in diameter. He needs to measure it from the where the tire sits inside the rim not from the outer lip.

Yeah on closer examination they must be 16's.. too similar around the edges of the holes and in the detail. Thanks all for the discussion.. who'd have guessed that someone custom made 16x9 phone dials ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Damn.. I'd actually really like some 17" phone dials if I could find them in big enough widths and right offsets.
