Someone who went to Radio Shack and spent 50 cents, and sells for 4 bucks.
And people buy it.
And people buy it.

I think it works the same way (and about as well) as the voltage stabilizers that were popular a year or so ago. Especially effective for your ECU's apparently (makes them work so much better!)...

Put in series with the oxygen sensor lead, it can "help" the performance by making the mixture a little fatter.
Very imporatnt to use a ceramic resistor, so the heat from the exhaust, travelling up the wire, will not damage the resistor. It would therefore protect the ECU from that same risk of thermal damage. A fringe benefit at no extra charge!
Gotta love this stuff!

Bob: sure?
I would expect that they alter the MAF output voltage a little to raise the fuel mixture.
It seems an awkward way to confuse the ecu and will probably not give the pomised power increase. It can't be tuned in the right way.
O2 in serial? Nope. The load on the O2 sensor is minimal, so effect of any resistor will be minimal or none. A resistor signal-to-ground will lower the sensor output, make the O2 show a lean mixture and make the ecu to respond by adding more fuel. Again it can't be tuned properly. But I would never open the wires underneath the car. The CEB area seems so much more suitable.
A much better way is to change the maps in the LH ecu or adjust the ignition timing maps in the EZK. They call this chiptuning I believe... pick up Andrew's thread on this... VERY interesting !!!!

Theo

No.
I need a tongue-in-cheek, just-kidding, pushing-the-discussion-to-an-illogical-conclusion type of smiley face symbol. I thought the puking noise and fade-to-green-screen would convince folks I wasn't serious. Sorry for the confusion.
But--
Adjusting the MAF signal with a series resistor wouldn't do anything to help, since at all mapped ranges the LH will richen again based on O2 sensor readings.
