also , get the car into a lower gear on approach to the turns, it acts like abs rear brakes on the decel, and it gives you more control out of the turns. the RPM cant run away, on exit by being in too tall of a gear and cause a spin or big slide on the exits. higher rpm is better on exit for much more control and less chance of a break-away slide .
Hey Mark, thanks for the tips! Don't ask how much the dash weighs

Default PCA CCS (Car Control School)

A few comments on the above posts...

I live just a few miles from that new toll road where the white vette ran and it is a very fun stretch of road. The cars are from Hennessey which is an amazing company west of Houston that makes crazy fast cars, and the state lets them run them on the new roads before they open up, supposedly to "test" the EZtag systems. They recently built the Venom GT which does 270 mph. It's worth taking a look around their web site.

Got my GoPro suction mount off eBay for $13 free shipping a few days go. I'm really looking forward to using it in Marble Falls in a few weeks. It seems to be excellent quality.

Here's a video of my son and I at the PCA car control school. It was an awesome all day event. I learned a lot, and had fun driving my 86.5 hard for the first time in over a decade. My son will never forget the experience and the instructors really gave him a lot of attention. He's been driving his BMW for just a few months. Unfortunately there was some operator error with the GoPro, so no in car video.

Default 3rd Coast Video

3rd coast video, also posted on the 3rd Coast thread. The suction mount I mentioned above worked well.

I hadn't realized how much I was shuffling during that session until I watched the video. It's a little embarrassing. I lay part of the blame on the cold. I was wearing four layers, and it took some effort to bend my arms to make the bigger turns. Just another example of lessons learned from watching your own video- I made the effort to avoid it in later sessions....

And the on-board sound from the Smartycam kinda sucks, trust me.

Great that you recognize it.... BUT don't make any reasons. its a bad habit from years of cruising on the streets. Lots do it, but its nothing but bad for good car control. Cold, uncomfortable, etc, all the MORE reason to lock your hands to the wheel at 3-10. the only exception is drifting.

Amazing factory 928 production video on par with those Natgeo ones of today, for documentation of the build process not the video quality. Be nice to get hands on the original. A lot of hand built elements and seemingly high quality control.

I have never seen this before. I like that turntable.
