Default Hurry up and wait!

You know this sounds a lot like my neighbor, got a bug up his *ss to purchase the car of his dreams. He ran out of things to do on his house got on the net looked for every type of exotic car and ends up with a Mustang Gt convertible. Car of his dreams, I'm sure he dreams at night why the hell did he buy it.
The moral of the story is take your time, be prepared to walk away on any deal and the right car will come along. I've owned a ton of all kinds of cars and always end up buying one when I'm not looking; seems the seller knows and smells the fear in your voice if you have to have it.
I went on a mission to find another 928 a few months ago and after looking and seeing what is out there decided to supercharge my 86. Not to say if the right car comes along I would not jump on it. There is nothing worse to sit in your mistake everyday and not enjoy your ride.
Just my 2 cents

If you really wanted the wrecked car you usually could have negotiated with the insurance company and bought it back as a salvaged car. They like to avoid additional storage charges ,tow fees and auction fees so often sell for a very modest amount. When it goes to auction you never know who might be bidding on it

Well, I made the deposite on the white 5-speed. Going to see/inspect/drive it home tomarrow. I descided to go ahead and get it with all the extravagant stereo gadgetry. When it comes down to it it just doesn't make much sence to remove $4k worth of equipment just to shave another 1g off the total cost. The most important thing is that the car is a fully documented and well cared for 928. Once the PPI is done and it is safely concluded there are no hamsters running in wheels under the hood I will be a happy man once again.

What is this morbid facination with dead 928's? I have to find where they sell this spescial plug that will connect my phone to my computer. It's USB on the computer side but some proprietary looking socket on the phone. It's just not been at the top of my list recently.

thats what I like, A guy that gets right back on the horse. Not "wow what should I buy, Im thinking abotu a corvette" Nothing, no hesitation to go get another 928. I hope I get to FLA and buy you a beer.... this summer why dont you take a road trip the 928OC GTG at the Pittsburgh vintage gran prix?

Thank you Mr Shark, I will defenately check out the 928OC and the events they are planning.

Are you a member of the 928OC? 928oc.org?

I tried to buy it back directly. It is against thier policy. They give the car over to the IAAI who will be auctioning the car in Tampa.

Something would have to go seriously wrong for me to have regretfull dreams about this car Mr. Tampa

Candleman, what time is your inspection tomorrow? Maybe I can meet up with you and gang up on the seller.

I stretched my budget for a single car buying the one I did. 23k is simply more than I am willing to spend for a used 928 barring maybe a nice GTS.

If you have pics in your camera you want to share just email them to yourself from the phone, then save 'em on your computer.

Easy.

What's the story on the Cassirot? If you don't want it, I may be interested. If someone else is working on a deal for it, I'll back off.

Thanks,

He stretched his budget to buy the white one, so the Cassirot is a no go i would assume.
