ABS Warning Light

ABS Warning Light
I recently changed the front brake pads and pad sensors on my'89 S4 and and now the ABS light is coming on. I also pulled the hubs, lubed the bearings, and cleaned the magnetic ABS sensors. Before the pads were changed, the Brake Pad Warning was coming on, now the ABS light comes on after driving for about 2 minutes. I think there is a short in the wireing harness or connector at the driver's side front wheel. The metal bracket that hold the round connector is broken. I went to the dealer and ordered harness 928 612 403 00 for $100 hoping the bracket is included. Also, the pad warning is coming up on the OBC again, which confirms my theory.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Ryan

I'm watching. My ABS light has been on since I owned this car. Did you search the old posts? Good Luck, if you find the problem please post the solution. Thanks, Gregg

Porsche makes a seperate Manual for ABS which contains 37 pages - luckily I havent had to use it so I dont know how much it helps. I have seen them on ebay.
When my ABS light came on it was one of the sensors - I just replaced them when I did the brakes.

Check the electrical connectors at each wheel hub, also don't forget the relay, unlikely especially as you have been dabbling in the sensor area.
You can check the operation of the sensors with a volt meter, check Greg Nichol's site. probably in the tip section.
When I got my car the ABS light was on, just needed a relay

Hey guys, already switched my relay and when I switched wheels I cleaned all the connectors, pad sensors and ABS, at each wheel. I guess I'm gonna have to check each sensor. Any other help?
