And now, for an insider's peek into 928 Forum Magazine politics, and probably a crystal clear vision as to how things tumbled apart:

As far as prints are concerned, in my opinion Adam you should absolutely charge. And use the $$ to bring out one last issue for those who paid for the last volume.
Sheesh Heinrich, so I get to singlehandedly write, publish and finance an issue, do you want editorial credit on this one too?

Just like old times, there for the credit, but not for the work....

I did get the old mags out of storage, there is a box and a quarter. I'll have to see the total amount in there, I would think that there's about 150 total. I won't know what the spread is as to how many issues of each until I go through them. Once I get them inventoried I'll post quantities.

Sorry for the passive aggressive squabble y'all.

Sounds like a typical case of folks volunteering for the sake of being involved and having good intentions, then failing to shoulder their share of the load.

Disappointing, but it happens all the time, Adam.

As my father used to say: 'The road to Hell is paved with good intentions'...

Default Cars vs. Forum longevity

I would not expect much help from Porsche AG and some things are insurmountable, but we have a base of some (WAG 25,000) cars, anybody know how many 356s are being maintained? I bet Jim Bailey knows. Mark A and Dave R are in business to keep us supplied.

Default Dont look to the "complaint department" for good news

IF you use ANY car forums for the reliability gauge you will end up with a 2009 model car. dont look to the "complaint department" for everything good, 90% of all postings are for help with small issues (but i noticed that help is getting slim on the small issue stuff, unlike the help i find on Audiworld) so if everyone posted evertime they drove thier 928 with out a problem, i wounder how fast the post would climb (me id be a slow poster = )...lol )

Somehow, I think you've got a very clear understanding of what "volunteering" entails, Randy.

Sounds like your Dad was an optimist, at least he was traveling a "paved" road.

No hard feelings H, if you didn't mean anything by your comments, I won't take anything from them.

Adam, hat's off to you for doing so much on your own. I wasn't intending to pile more work on.

Any chance these can be scanned to PDF? To do it well, I think one copy of each issue would have to be torn apart into separate pages.

You're a funny guy Heinrich.

I don't know if there's any advantage to splitting the mag into its original 11 x 17 sheets bronto, you'd need a color scanner big enough to accomodate the sheets, and then you would have to print onto 11 x17 and staple it all back together. The sheets are printed on both sides as well. It would probably be easier just to scan each individual page in consecutive order. Anyone with a color scanner and some time could pull it off.

Only that it would be easier to scan them. I presumed that they are standard 8.5 x 11 pages (never seen it), so after removing stables and cutting down the center, 8.5 x 11 pages, right? Seems worthwhile since there seems to be more interest in the remaining inventory than actual inventory.

I see now bronto, I didn't understand that you were intending on having the original sheets cut. Ultimately, I think we're talking about the same thing then, except that I was thinking that the same would be done without pulling the mag apart and just scanning each page. I think it might be difficult to find a copy of the first volume / first issue to cut up.

Sounds good, how about IM'ing a shipping address to me.
